Got a story to tell and remind me not to be stupid…
Rotated my tires and replaced all my lug nuts. Found two tires with nails, so I pulled the small one, hoping it wouldn’t have a leak… but it did. That meant the other one became the spare, because I was down to one plug in my kit, So I plugged it and it held until we drove to a friend’s house for fishing and a bonfire. I parked next his lake, and started fishing, but when we were done and headed back up to his house, we noticed my tire went flat. So we drove to the closest thing he had to a flat surface (his driveway), and got ready to pull it and plug it again, because he had a kit.we got it off ok, but my parking brake must be out of adjustment because it rolled back off my bottle jack, and the rotor dug in to the dirt a little. Now I felt really stupid, because I had never had that happen to me before.
Well at this point it was quite an ordeal. It took two Toyota bottle jacks (he drives a Tundra), and the scissor jack to get it back together, because we had to reposition them. We found out the hard way, because we used two jacks after it fell, and when they were both closer fully extended (but not there yet), it fell a second time. I forgot to block/chock the rear tires until the second fall.
We finally got it all back together, but I will never jack a vehicle without chocking it again.I should’ve known better, so I paid the stupid tax.
