Installed the new drip molding and went for a nice long drive with the family. Wind noise is much much better. Little concerned that my drip molding didn’t drop in nicely and required some force to get into position, but everything seems fine. I used a combination of factory rivets and 5/32” aluminum rivets in a few spots where the hole had been enlarged by the previous screws.

Got the transmission rebuilt at a local shop for $2,800. He usually puts in a new or rebuilt torque converter but there wasn't any available so he sent mine out to a specialist to get rebuilt. Refilled with Toyota ATF. Everything took a long time, due to parts and shipping issues because of COVID. Had a bit of hard shift since I got it. I've never owned a vehicle with an auto trans, so I didn't understand how far off it was. Really nice now. The shop owner showed me a couple of things that were just worn out explained a bunch about tolerances, showed me the bands were very dark, and something or another that was actually broken inside. She just wore out!

The shifting while driving is of course much better. But also pretty much stopped the DNR clunk since it shifts into and out of gear much gentler. It would do that before, now and then, a nice gentle gear change from Park to Drive. Now its like that all the time.

No pics, looks exactly the same!

Took me way too long and a sawzall was the answer in the end but I replaced the right rear shock!!! Now onto the other side. :p I used a very long bendy blade to slide in from the wheel well and cut that damn rusty nut to bits. That has to be some kind of 100 series owner right of passage. Hahahaha

Yeah, that job sucks! . I don't know why, but that was the job I hated the most doing so far.

After spending 3wks at Torfab for a bunch of maintenance things I don't have time or talent to handle, yesterday I accidentally discovered water underneath rear carpet ... now I'm pulling trim from around the side window and trying to figure out why water is dripping down this little plastic trim fastener. Maybe the weatherstripping is failing? Have new carpet padding ordered for rear carpet, and going to try out the Amazon Basics sound proofing pad on the bare metal back there, particularly around the wheel wells.

1. Oil change at 201k with OEM Toyota filter.
2. Removed the running boards. Only sheared 4 bolts.
3. Removed factory roof rack and installed the @Ironman4x4Bubba 100 series feet kit. More on the feet kit later in my build thread. Had to modify the front most brackets to fit the LX470.

so the plot thickens. PO had an extra bracket installed to lengthen the arm? Sensor lift? Replacing the sensor it now sits perfect at neutral but fails to raise or lower AHC off blinks while driving

The scissor portion of the sensor was bending the wrong way. AHC high n low works like a dream. I am a genius.

Finished up install of RedArc BCDC1225D, awaiting Anderson SB50 amp connector to connect solar panel! Oh yeah, got a 200W solar blanket ready to go

Love this electronic battery isolating solution from a solid company. Was stoked they came out with the mounting bracket as well. You'll enjoy it.
