Like clockwork, Carfax alerted me for a 5,000 mile use (4.5 months) to get the tires rotated, did that. Now at quarter of a million mileage and still purrs like new, thought of treating it with royalty engine oil, Motul 300V 5W30 double ester technology pure synthetic oil.

Question: anyone have the cv boot clamps, I’m spitting grease. Also how many banana job

Thanks to 1428Mike I added a few goodies to my new to me 04LC.

Installed new Ironman heavy springs, shocks, and torsion bars. Had to reindex TB's to get the front where it needed to be (for the moment anyway). my Ridge Grapplers have been delivered and will be on early this week. Final pic once I get my new shoes on (LT275/70R18). Thanks Mike for your more than generous help.

I gave my extras to @Bisho but you can buy them from McMaster-Carr. It’s a 0.25 banana job...

has anyone written this process up

I need this setup for fishing. I even purchased the light already. Was the cable routing easy enough? Where did you bring power from?
Check my build thread in the signature. More pics there. Worst part is through the rubber boot between the hatch and body. I tapped the 12v outlet in the trunk which I’ve set to have constant power by jumping the Acc relay in the engine bay.

I followed this video. Super easy to do.

I think I have a few extra clamps too.

That is NOT the process for just replacing clamps. @Pucker5 disregard that video unless you want to reboot your CVs.

Cheers

@Pucker5 i found it easier to put the front end on stands, e brake on and t-case in neutral. crawl under there and simply move the wheel or axle until the pinch tabs on the band is staring at you. I use a small flat head screwdriver and some patience to slowly pry up the tabs on the band. once they are up, the band will open up and give you plenty of room to take some snips to it.
