Worked the ol' torsion bar magic, and leveled out the driver's side sag. Firstly, re-indexed TOO much and the driver's side adjusting arm was pointed down below the bracket. Re-re-indexed for only a notch or two, and it came out nice with adjuster arm back up inside the bracket. Took the LC out for a run in the dunes, bounced the suspension around and she stayed right on the mark. Droop confirmed as OK, ready for our 10am alignment on Monday!

While down there, noted a nut missing from the PS manifold, will order and replace.

And then, that damn rear view mirror was loose again, so snugged it up with a little blue locktite.

Aisin TB kit arrived and I added new cam and crank seals to stop an oil leak, and I hope, all the tools needed. Now need a couple days open and good weather to give it a go.

Ugh, been there. Headed to the body shop on Monday to spend this year’s mod budget to fix
One thing that absolutely saved my ass multiple times was the @white-knuckleoffroad sliders. They kept on taking hit after hit and don't show any of it. Best upgrade ever!

Took my son for a quick overnight at a nearby campground. It was his first night sleeping in the RTT. Only had to make three trips down the ladder to potty before falling asleep.

The kid lost the keys to his locking hitch pin while he was off at school :(

So we got to do the "Lock Picking 101" class:

In the past two weeks:
Ran 12 ga wire from accessory fuse block to rear 12v acc plug to get ready for a fridge

Upgraded to Philips 9011 low beam bulbs—sooo much brighter.

Applied fluidfilm to inside and outside of frame to maintain its Northern CA minty-freshness.

Installed wits’ end fire extinguisher mount and put an Amerex 2.5 lb Halotron extinguisher on it.

Ran my main power wire from back to front. The under-hood wiring is temporary because I ordered the wrong size Techflex and split loom, both too small for my 1/0 Gauge power wire. Back to Amazon. Once I get the right size Techflex, I’ll slip the under-hood part of the wire in the Techflex. Nothing is wired up yet, I just ran the wire from back where the stock jack would go, through the firewall, and over to where the aux battery will be installed. I also need to order the Slee aux battery bracket, and the National Luna dual battery kit from Paul May at Equipt. Once I have those items and the battery, I’ll wire it all up.

Changed cabin filter while waiting for air filter to arrive. Also oil and filter change, first since I bought her. last change unknown. Oil filter was Valvoline brand so probably not from dealer. Removed front skid to prep to fo rust repair and refinishing and fluid film. While crawling around under the truck I noticed huge gap at my left front spindle.

I bet the snap ring under the grease cover has walked off.

Installed the BT45_TOY with microphone on 2003 Land Cruiser with nav. Searched and searched for tips and this thread was by far the best.

I did mine a little different but am very satisfied with results. Back in the day, I used to think having a 5 disc CD changer was the ultimate package, but the truth is, you cannot compete with BT connectivity to streaming music. Also nice to have hands free calling.

Finally got the time and tools to complete the front diff oil change. Man that old gear oil smells nasty! Checked around locally and the best price for a F,R,TC, and engine oil change was $230. All in including new tools, new crush washers, and oil was about $90. The new knowledge about my truck, and that it was done right are worth as much as the extra cash. Upcoming KO2s and 4 wheel alignment. (Tire guy tells me the BFG promo starts 5/15) Also, figured out that the cause of the blank Multi-Function Display was fuse #32-which is labeled as as a fuel injection fuse...thanks to another MUD user for the encouragement to keep looking, even though all the “right” fuses were checked.

Your oil pressure will drop at idle when warmed up.

Buy any good set of AT tires, I have loved the BFG KO2, Goodyear Duratracs and have heard good things about but haven’t run the Coopers. Stay away from the Toyo’s As they’re super heavy.

Air pressure and consistent rotation is key to making them wear correctly. Also, you should buy 5 if you’re gonna actually hit the dirt consistently. Then rotate all 5 tires.
Thanks! I spoke with a local tire place and they can match Costco on KO2s, and will give me a 12mo warranty for the alignment, I can have checked and adjusted anytime. It is a family car, but we will be doing a significant amount of off roading in it, especially this summer, but I wasn’t willing to trade off on road manners, since currently it is also my DD.

for my cheapo Amazon chinese fridge Bought the arb wiring kit, and also a bluesea 12v outlet from amazon since I'm not too electrical savvy to build my own wiring kit with fuse.

used an awl into rubber boot on driver side which leads to under dash, and routed under carpet and plastic moldings until i reached existing outlet in 3rd row.

now i just need to solder it and I'm good to go! didn't have any time left.

I love these pictures!

Reminds me of my son (now 20), when he was that age, and our adventures in my old 80 series.

This might also explain, why my son thinks an "outfitted" (100 series) Land Cruiser is a perfectly normal vehicle for his daily driver.

Removed the stock rack and mounted my base mounts to start building the new rack. Finally got my tailgate lid installed.

Got TruckLite Military 7" heated LED headlights to swap out the cheap ones I have in there now, plus can't stand that purplish blue light they give off.
