And.....finally put the front tag on. I have had the tag for 20+ years and it has been on Wranglers, Accords, my 80....and now the 100. Just in time!

Replaced stock springs with King AHC coils and adjusted TBs to get neutral pressures back within spec and to balance a bit of a driver side lean. Truck feels great after AHC bleed and these adjustments. Hopefully can keep the original globes going a while. I'd never done any suspension work but posts here got us pointed in the right direction. Went OK once we figured out what was going on. Intended to get a bunch of action shots but failed.

Proof of sketchy driveway mechanic activity:

OME 865 rears, OEM shocks all around, t-bar crank + alignment. Mounted the ARB a few weeks ago. First shots of this thing I've posted I think. Also a shot the day I bought it back in May. Was thinking on my drive home Friday that I am done messing with this thing for a while. Of course spent yesterday compiling parts numbers lists for door speakers, actuators, and window motors. 2000 w/ 205k.

I repaired spiral cable assembly. Horn found non-operative when wife took ride in for inspection. Problem was in spiral cable. Dealer cost was quoted as 450+, but found it much cheaper online (260-ish). Decided to take it apart to see if repair was feasible. Turns out the cable had been unwound (clockwise) until it doubled back over itself asnd kinked the ribbone cable. Simply cut out the bad section and soldered the cable back together. Sealed the repair and rewound/reassembled the assembly. Checks good!
Meant to take pics but got caaught up in the repair and forgot.

Good temp fix, but Ill replace when I can get the part for reasonable price.

Cheers!

Finally got to finish installing my other front seat from LSeat....6 months later. So happy I have two matching seats finally! Maybe I should not have waited so long because I forgot how many friggin electrical connections and how much I had to take apart just to get at hog rings. Glad thats over!

Finally got around to running wires and getting my 6 switch bank operational
Cut out the Homelink BS (99 Lx470) , found a 6 gang switch with a black aluminum housing.
Rewired the pre-wired switches because there is not much room in that space above
Now I need to finish wiring up the rest of the lights etc

Had to play musical cars to fit the girlfriends Tucson in the garage for an oil change. Managed to get a poser pic in the process

While I was working on it she mentioned that “the steering wheel keeps shaking while I’m driving”.....

Speed bubble! You get those when driving long distance at a very high rate of speed. I got one while in high school driving to ft Lauderdale from Orlando, got there in just over 2hrs when normally it's a 3hr+ drive.

Took the family and dogs out for a quick trail ride around Flatside Pinnacle. My parents followed in the T4R while the girlfriend and I led the way in the LC

My starter had become unreliable in cold weather, meaning the contacts were bad. I ordered a Denso replacement and tore into it this weekend. It rained the whole time I was working on it. Thanks to my EZ-up and Military rain gear I pressed on. I also had previously purchased valve cover gaskets and NGK Laser IR plugs and knocked that out too. I should have ordered OEM seals and gaskets as the aftermarket stuff was a tad different. Anyways, it all worked and I used the old manifold gaskets. Hopefully they won't leak. Truck started right up and runs like new again.

Did you steam the cushions to renew them?

No but I had thought about adding some foam to the backrest but it came out pretty good as it was. The seat bottoms actually feel pretty cushy still.

After the starter/plug/valve cover gasket change this weekend, my LC runs a ton better. Accelerates much better!! Must be the new plugs, as the Densos that were in had a very small gap due to growth on the tip opposite of the electrode. Noticeable difference. I think I had the plugs changed when I had the TB done 55K miles ago.

Rolled it.

Do tell!?

I had to take mine in to the dealer to get the windshield replaced (again!) after the dealer screwed up the instal the first time. I took it to Toyota so I would have it done “properly”, but it leaked like a sieve right on top of the ECU. I will be having the service manager attach a note to my vin stating that since their glass guys f’ed up, they are on the hook if the ECM craps it in the next while.

The upside is, we got a 2018 Tacoma TRD Off-Road to drive for a few days while they were fixing the 100, and my wife and I both agreed that the Taco was not even close to as nice as our 100. That saved me about $50,000!!

Took 2 kiddos and sister with her kid to Arizona for 5day vacation. Hotel at Flagstaff so we can hit up Sedona and Grand Canyon. Two car caravan from San Diego. We all piled into the LX for Sedona adventure on Broke Arrow trail. Snow on the trail was gonna be an epic day.

But the cold and age of the truck had other ideas. After submarine rock, we continued on and I dragged the hitch pretty good. That bang was enough for the frozen fan bracket bearing to break loose. Back track to downtown, did our shopping and cross finger truck made it the 45mile climb back to Flagstaff and it did! Few hours of homework on the broken truck revealed this wasn’t gonna be fixed in the hotel parking lot in sub freezing temps.

But there was a toyota dealership down the street. After $99 diagnostic fee they told me what everything was wrong with the truck. Kept it simple enough to get me 500 miles back home.

T belt kit
Water pump
T stat
Fan mounting bracket

They wanted to do the fan clutch too since they said it had wobble (now it whirls sounds a bit). The wobble was likely from the broken bearing and it doesn’t wobble anymore. Clutch is on the outside of engine and I can address that when I get home and pinch some hundreds of dollars off the bill. $1240 later I got to drive back home few day later than i expected but that’s OK. 208k miles on the truck. Last tbelt was 124k so it was due soon!!
