Hit them again wet sanding with the green pad then polish with the orange pad and some compound. Never should have done it. Not happy.

Did you use a drill polishing pad with the compound? The green scotchbrite is much too course to get a clear lens. I'd go 600-800-1000-2000-2500 after the green scotchbrite. I have done several and they look beautiful when finished.

Replaced my broken front diff w @cruisermatt this morning! Happy Christmas!!!

Edit: Also, tightened wheel bearings and replaced the associate lock washer.

In a parking lot no less

I took advantage of a rare sunny day to temporarily seal up my sunroof. It looks like I've got a leak between the seal and the roof as well as between the actual glas and the seal on it. Used flowable silicone sealant to seal the whole shebang, then unplugged the switches. Come spring and better weather I may replace the seal and repair the unit, but for now I just want to keep the water out.

I absolutely hate sunroofs. Every vehicle I've owned with one has leaked at some point or another. I've got half a mind to just leave it sealed.

Wait until you see how expensive they are to fix.

Yep, if the water ingress can be fixed with a new gasket (around $60) I'm down. No way I'm spending big money on a sunroof. That money is better spend on winches, bumpers, etc!

Not entirely impressed, might be worse. May have to hit them again with the 3000.

I used the 3M kit for my LX today. Someone had done it previously, and the clear coat was peeling. This is the first time I've used one of the kits. Generally I've ever just hand sanded down to 3k or 5k or something that's basically printer paper in texture, then followed with a polish and a sealant, reapplied each time I washed or detailed the vehicle.

The problem with the 3M kit, IMO, is that it relies on the clear coat wipes to provide the actual clarity, so you never actually get a clear lens, just the illusion of it. I decided to leave my lights slightly hazed after the final foam sanding disc, and will properly buff them with my porter cable when I get home to ATL after Christmas. Not much for detail supplies at Mom and Dad's.

Kind of tricky to see here, but the previously applied clear coat was peeling from the top, giving me a dulled edge across the lens

You can see some of the high spots of the clear coat here:

And this was after the foam disc. Better, smooth for sure, but definitely not clear enough to call it done and cover the cloudiness with their clear coat wipe. IMO, it's kind of a half-assed product for people who don't have access to real abrasive pads/polishes to do it correctly.

Oh, and tonight I also started on the new project for my truck. Got stuck with some hardware that's not long enough, so I'll do the truck-side prep tomorrow and pick up the hardware I need on Wednesday when stores open.

My girlfriend got me a pair of Baja Designs Squadrons for XMAS, they're spot/flood combined. Personally, I couldn't justify spending $200+ on a pair of lights until I saw the light output... HOLY CRAP THEY ARE WORTH EVERY DOLLAR! These two small lights are 10x brighter than my previous Amazon specials LEDs! Even brighter and more focus than 2x of my 9inch Amazon LED spotlights on my roof rack.

On the third picture, you can see how bright they are! I had only the Baja on, no headlights! I am very pleased with it.

Was looking at lights like those today. You're not kidding, those suckers are expensive! They look awesome, though.

I see you too have a stolen traffic cone! Somehow I've ended up with a few over the years. I think generally when someone thinks they can (but really can't) block a parking space, I end up with a new one.

LOL. Those traffic cone was from a prank. My friends stole it and placed it all over my driveway. I thought the city was doing construction when I saw it in the morning.
