Took "Xena" out to Cajon Junction in CA! Get to drive next to a freight train! No pictures though :( Let me know what you think of the pictures. Did I overdo it with the photoshop? lol

Is your molding on doors painted white?
Plasti-Dip white. I only did it on one side. Lol. I have not had time to do the driverside, as you can tell in some of the pictures.

@KraziAzn The white trim looks good. Will you also do the other side and bumpers maybe?
I thought about painting plasti-dipping the bumpers white, but I kinda like the goldish trim. Gives it an old-school look.

I replaced my poorly working Gen 3 Nav drive with a Gen 4 unit. I kept getting the "dirty or damaged disc" message which was a real pain. Maybe I'm one of the few here that still uses the built in Nav system and I wanted to get it working again. The new drive came out of a wrecked LX with 94,000 miles on it which I got off Ebay. I found they really won't budge on the prices of an outdated Nav drive. I also picked up the newest Gen 4 map DVD. It's a copy but it works fine and was only $10. From what I read, this one (v15.1) may be the last map disk for the Gen 4 systems. The swap takes only a few minutes and the seat doesn't need to be removed. It's a direct swap and all the connectors and mounting points are the same. A couple of minutes in the menu screens and it was good to go. The controls and route searching seem to be a bit quicker than the Gen 3.

so in the 02 LC do i need to update the nav unit and discto be current or just the disk? I have a 09 disc but thtas out of date obviously.... also yours is the lx so im sure its a bit different right?

Really awesome mod! Broke some teeth off my front ring gear today!
4LO climbing a ledge with the center diff locked and rear air locker engaged.
Got off the trail by pulling the drive flanges and front driveshaft and locking the center diff. I'll be in 2wd for a while now. The silver lining is I might have a front locker in my future. Pretty pricy. I hate to cheap out and just do the ring gear but a locker is a big $$$$$ unexpected surprise.

Oh yeah and it's a 2004 with the "stronger" front diff.

That sucks but to make you feel better I was surprised to see the diff was replaced by the PO in my 06. It happened on the hwy and had never been off road

Mine is an 03 LC and the drive itself was the problem and since I had to replace the whole drive I decided to go with the newer generation as the cost was the same. It had been getting worse and didn't work at all in the cold. Once the car warmed up it would work. If you just want to get current maps just buy the disc. I don't what the newest map is for the gen 2/3 units but the newest one I see on eBay is v13.1. To get anything newer you may need to upgrade the drive as well. But as far as I know, only the Gen 4 units are compatible. The drive I got is part# 86841-50090. There are lots of them on eBay and tend to go around $200-250. A brand new one is a ridiculous amount of money if you can even find one.
