I just installed a new bumper and want to get my license plate light and reverse light going. I decided to tap into my towing harness. I disconnected the 7pin harness from the "trailer socket" (per FSM) and that way I can do the wire work on my workbench. Anyone see any issues with this or done this before? Green is running and Yellow is reverse.

As @Greenbean noted, $130 for new parts isn't bad:
FRONT CONSOLE for 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser | Toyota Parts

I always thought the process and materials in one of those headlight refinishing kits would work well to clean up the center console. Then an interior protector product to shine it up, paint or some of that black trim refinisher. ...but then $130 to get my Saturday morning back doesn't sound so bad either.

I've been horrible about posting what I've been doing, so here's two:

Raised my spare tire (285/75/16) with a new method to angle the rod, and very happy with the results:

Removed the trim on my center console, but OMG this was the biggest PITA. Anyone that 'just took it off' is either blessed, an amnesiac, or a sadist because I swear it took me 4 hours just to get the adhesive off. Goo Gone, Acetone, blades, scrapers, sandpaper, I dread doing the rest of the pieces. I had no choice though, as something had damaged the veneer and it had turned yellow and started peeling <sigh>

I'm seriously considering buying new pieces from Mr T if I can, assuming they won't have had the veneer installed (that was a dock item right?)...

It's much easier when you warm it up to soften the adhesive. I went through the same process.

Installed a brake pad clip today that my cruiser did not have, and actually is NOT in the FSM either (98 LC).

Huge thank you to @04gto for the tip - check out the thread if you have the clatter.

Also installed my extended sway bar links from TrailTailor - was debating having a friend extend my originals but didn't want to drive around for a week without, then looked at buying OEM so he could modify those but that was $55, so @reevesci 's links at $80 were a great deal:

How much lift and what brand are you running? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

Thanks D,

I have 4 sets left and then the price will go up (fair warning to all). The place I got my OEM bushings is out and doesn't look like they will re-stock. I got them for about half the price that most of the online warehouses sell them for. So, price will go up almost 20$ a set once these 4 are gone.

I fought with this bastard for a couple hours Friday night, soaked the tough-to-reach nuts in PB Blaster yesterday and today, then finished removing it in about an hour tonight. I think I got lucky- only need to replace two studs, and they're easy to reach. At first glance I thought I may have misdiagnosed the 1600cc VW sound coming from my drivers side...

... but a closer look revealed this

Swapped out my 9005 for 9011, waiting on the 9012's to arrive! Also, received a email from Mike and it's on a pallet!!

Been putting mine off...was quoted $500 from a local shop to replace. Life decisions just won't make it happen.

Recharged the A/C. Replaced the front brake pads, resurfaced rotors, and replaced coolant.
