Not much this week, just creep on mud and progressively freak out about possible non existent problems. Fixed my rear seats into place as were squeaking when folded up. Lubed a rear window seal to stop wind squeak at speed. Scouting out possible upholsterers to do my speaker covers and front leather. Even though I had it died and it looks perfect I know it's a facade and I want new hide.

Yes, the most important mod to do first

Although not a mod, repairing this will come before sliders...

I'll be interested to see how you go about this repair. I had (have) the same issues. I cut out one rocker entirely with a grinder and cut out about 6 inches off the corner of the other one. Don't know if you've taken off the plastic bumper cover recently, but I had similar rust holes in both corners of the rear quarter underneath the bumper cover. I'm using a restoration place to patch up both rear holes (behind the rear wheels) and simply cut out the remaining rockers and clean up the jagged sheet metal. I'm just going to coat the exposed metal (exposed after cutting out the rockers) with black POR15 and call it a day.

Good luck friend.

I have the same corner rocker panel rust issues; tempted to get the grinder out and wage war, but I might take it to a body shop and get an estimate instead.

I've had a few estimates. The best estimate I received was from a restoration guy known as The Metal Surgeon, who quoted me at a little over $1k to do both rockers and both rear quarter areas. The plan was to buy some rocker replacement panels and incorporate them into the 100 rocker (because ours are virtually unavailable), but due to one issue or or another this plan was abandoned. He gave me another quote with fabbing completely new metal for the rockers, but it was more than double the original quote and I wasn't about to pay anywherew close to that.

I've decided to just hire somebody - another local restoration shop actually - to clean up the existing edges of sheetmetal from where I cut out the rockers, and patch up the two rear quarter holes. I figure I can live without rockers, especially when that area is painted black I acutally like the aesthetics. This is my current plan, assuming this job (cleaning up jagged metal and fixing two rear holes) is under $400 or so. We'll see...

Been busy with tailgate storage lids this past week. These are all cleaned up and will be assembled and shipped next week.

Got the new 1" Diff Drop all mocked up. Once I get in installed and revisions are completed I'll send these to my new cutter. All spacers will be made from 6061 aluminum for these.

Received all the tube for the RUCA/RLCAs, waiting for some CrMo tube inserts and LH CrMo studs. By the end of next week I'll have something to show you all.

Cleaned the AC blower motor, nothing major but there were one leaf and some hairs in there. Installed it today and it's so much quieter.

How did you manage to get the fan blades off the motor? When I took mine out to clean it I didn't have any luck and I tried several different techniques to get it off. I eventually gave up in fear of breaking it.

Swapped the fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve and cleaned the maf.

Ahc height adjustment roughly 1.5 front and rear ( still fine tuning but I'm within 1/4 inch all the way around). I should note that the front is still stink bug about 3/4 to 1 inch lower than rear. Ride is fine up to 85 mph ( probably still smooth above that). Didn't need to add fluid, but will sometime next week just in case .

Finally got around to replacing rear brakes, took 1/4 the time of the ahc.

Can I say again that it is sooooo nice to work on a rust free vehicle? T bars, smooth as silk, caliper bolts, no binding .

Of course as anyone here can attest, it is far more fun and satisfying to wrench on any vehicle because you want to, not because you have to ( something critical broke).

Still tracking down that damn rattle.

Added 2 Quick Fists to the roofbars to hold the long handle shovel.
Also replaced the merit plug in the rear for the fridge to an Anderson plug. No more loose contact.

I squeezed my fingers between the blades and the motor, stepped on the black plate/bracket the motor attached to, and pulled it hard. At one point I feared I'd break something but all ended up OK.

Over the last two weeks my husband ripped out my AHC and installed my Slee diff drop, OME springs, Total Chaos UCAs, and Fox 2.0 shocks while I wire wheeled and painted the frame and the splash guard. Got some help from my little one.

It looks amazing, but it drives even better. I am hoping I never have to get rid of these shocks and that they can eventually handle some weight.

And! Because my husband really, really loves me, he gave me the 16" wheels off his 02 that I've been begging for and swapped out my 18s. Let me just say, I've been drooling over those machined Tundra wheels and watching them on eBay, but I will never go back to 18s. Not. Ever.

Going to get sliders soon which will be good, because I have to grab the wheel and jump to get in.

I am taking it wheeling on Saturday with some friends. I can't wait to see how it does!
