Long weekend. A little 40 time. Progress in the right direction.

Probably spent 8-10 hours total on it this weekend. Took the family to winery last night for pizza and chill time.

Wiring 99% finished, need to run wires into the cab for OBD2 connector/ check engine light and mount the ECM to have it complete.

Passenger fender mocked in, air box sorted, air compressor location planned.
Transfer case crossmember mounts built and tack welded in place.
Top plate fully installed on transmission.

Some great threads going on here in the 40 section with ideas I don’t need to address yet.

Today was dad day with the kids. Thankful to be able to spend time with them and just hang out.

Next plan is to sort the fuel tank install, get it lined out then tear everything down and finish weld mounts, seal up, clean up, then piece it all back together. Sounds like a weekend worth of work right?? 😂😂

Only picture of 40 progress this weekend. Not quite exact ECM location but very close.

Zero day. Wife was in the gym when I got home and lunch and we had been getting our ass kicked at work with post holiday busy. So I sat and ate while we talked and caught up on the day.

Tonight I cleaned up the garage in preparation for tear down. Organized all the tools back, swept and stashed away parts. Still waiting on a couple odds and ends to finalize some designs.

Planning on tackling the fuel system next and then will tear down. That way if there are any random parts I don’t have I’m not stuck waiting on them.

Organization is key. That being said, my garage is a hot mess- two project trucks and a mtb addiction I gave to my kid. And anything else that gets shoved in there.

This has been a 45 year problem for me. It’s starts out clean and tidy….then I start something simple and don’t put stuff back. And so it begins.
I have an almost decent photographic memory… I know where almost everything is and easily visualize the exact spot in the picture in my head to go and retrieve it. Then, the s#!t hits the fan because I moved it, didn’t put it back or left it somewhere under something else. The image appears in my head and I look in disbelief that it’s missing

Frustrating

I’ve been very tempted into the mtb world. I can definitely see us falling off the deep end into it some day
My friend and fellow enabler has a saying: As addictive as herion and twice as expensive. Our kids started out racing bmx and now race DH/Freeride together. The rabbit hole goes as deep as you let it…

Now get back to work on the swap. It’s sooooo worth it.
