Remove the intake to pull engine with less chance of breaking anything. Fresh knock sensors and harness, cam sensor and intake gaskets.

Yes they do. I have more small items like this than I do in the price of the engine.

Although my manifolds have not shipped and I was told today they might not until next week

But I can make progress.

Valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, engine clean up tomorrow.

And call Mark about a top plate.

90% of what I have done to this point has been during my lunch hour. I live 2 miles from work so I haul ass home, wrench, haul ass to work.

I’ve traded eating lunch for getting the 40 back on the road.

I didn’t follow suit and ordered the Hooker center dump manifolds after looking them over.

The summit ones you listed earlier in the thread appear to exit at the rear which I think will conflict with my passenger side slave cyl.

How are you routing exhaust on manual transmission external slave setups with this?

180 out of the passenger side down in front of the oil pan sump, and around and merge on the driver’s side

Figuring this out as I go.


At this point in life I have swapped more engines in sandals than not.
