No hijack here. Good seat info.

I’m on the look. I’ve been in a many Scheel-Mann and they are great. However one basic one is more than I paid for my 40. And I’m on the poverty line due to cruiser addictions.
I figured I’d settle for a run of the mill seat when I started my project but am a sucker for an electric seat and when I saw 18 way adjustable seats I ran not walked down that path. The eBay link I posted above has seats for sale all the time, pick your color and style. They were a very helpful seller, and cost no more than a run of the mill seat.

I jumped on 4 that weren't my first color choice, to get 4 convertible seats so the seat belts were integral. Will be trying to dye them soon.

Suddenly I think he might be one of those ‘lights before lockers’ types.

I’m fortunate to have friends with cool cars. Also fortunate to be able to do things with a wrench most can’t.

So it’s getting some repairs and sent back to them.

I’ll stick to my Toyotas

Although my 40 does have a couple LED lights and no lockas 🤔

Keep in mind 0*C is the freezing point of water.

I guess this means it is going to snow here for a few days this year. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been eyeing these.

I’m sure the color won’t match. The price isn’t terrible.

$270 shipped each. If I didn’t have to adult and purchase a deep freezer today due to one dying, I planned to order one to sit in and see what’s good or bad.

In case you didn’t see it, I posted in the @rkymtnflyfisher seat thread about these and TMI seats. TMI has a lot of variations and you can get pretty creative like perforated leather, cloth or suede in the centers, etc. But, they are pretty easy to add seat heaters to as well if you’re considering that. I added heaters to my 60 seats and love them, though the vinyl is hot AF in summer and cold AF in winter.

I like that option.

I agree my next set will have heat.

I have heaters for my bench seats but have not installed. It should be an easy orocess

Little project today. Took two and made one.

Looks like a gear locked up and broke.

Scrounged pieces from my factory odometer, cleaned and lubricated, re assembled at close to mileage it should be. More better.

It’s currently 63 and sunshine here. I’m wishing I was on a back road just putting along.

Girls took nap. Dad enjoyed sunshine and wrench therapy. I come back inside and dogs are passed out in the garage.

Powered up the rear heater I picked up and no dice. Tore it apart and found the lower bearing was just stiff enough the motor could not start itself.
Pulled apart the motor and sanded some rust off the shaft and bearing, moly greased and she is free as a bird again.
Cleaned, Installed and worked on plumbing. I need some 1/2” heater hose and it’ll be hooked up. Wiring should be simple as hooking up.

I picked up a simple led dome light off the jungle store that mounts to roll bars a while back. Got it knocked out today as well.

I'm glad that thing found a home. Love the photo of the dogs!

So trying to decipher this in my head.

When I swapped the Speedo originally it quit working after trying to roll the 10s of mileage. From 49-50 miles. Locked up and broke the 10ths wheel.

Yesterday I swapped the wheels from my original Speedo to the new cluster. ( later model but still screw in Speedo cable)

Now the odometer counts backwards.

Maybe I put it together wrong? Maybe it won’t work?

I'd be surprised if they didn't work the same was... that said, I've only monkied around with '74, ''76, & '77 speedometers. does the speedometer work? Are the worm gears threaded in the same direction?

If the answer to the last Two questions is yes, then it points towards something being assembled wrong... not an absolute, but most likely the problem.

Speedo works great.

I haven’t had the chance to take it back apart but I remember I used the original drive gear (I think). Once I get it apart I’ll figure it out and post an update.

I found the issue at lunch.

It’s not that it was turning backwards. Well it technically is turning a different direction than the odometer that was in the 40.

The wheels are labeled in a different direction.

Wheel swap and lube and good to go.

The 1/10ths are backwards but that’s not the end of the world.
