If you find yourself needing another project (riiiiight), it’s pretty easy to disassemble, clean and grease the odometer wheels and put them back in whatever order you want. In the few I’ve done, the grease gets hard and the 1/10’s, miles and 10’s place spin freely but then would stick when it comes time to turn a 100’s or 1000’s place wheel.I’ve been picking up used parts off the mud classifieds.
I’ve got all the rest heater components other than the heater itself.
And @Vulcan sent me a pile of cluster/ dash goodies
Happy to not have any cracks and hopefully a speedometer that’s more accurate.
I went ahead and put led lights in as well as touched up the needle paint.
Lost about 47,000 miles on the swap. I looked at correcting the mileage. However didn’t have the patience to spin the speedometer for hours.

I used a really light lithium I think? Super lube brand. And I didn’t use much of it at all. Also used an electrical contact cleaner to clean all the parts so it wouldn’t eat the plastic or finish on the wheels.@Skreddy I’ve done this to odometers yrs back… what kind of grease are you using? Is it light stuff?
Good call. Even rubbing alcohol will disrupt the paint/ink on the tumblers.I used a really light lithium I think? Super lube brand. And I didn’t use much of it at all. Also used an electrical contact cleaner to clean all the parts so it wouldn’t eat the plastic or finish on the wheels.
