soft top has been my favorite mod. you can take it all off without help in no time too. This post made my want of a soft top that much more. I’ve been thinking about it. Maybe this year.
My son was bugging me all weekend to work on “the black truck” so he got to help before first start.

Yeah, and you have one of those magnets holders you keep showing me tooI use these cup holders in my rig and put some door edge trim around the inside edge. Works a treat.
That was my plan as well on the trimI use these cup holders in my rig and put some door edge trim around the inside edge. Works a treat.
Best thing I did was keep cruisers in the lives of my boys. Grit is key. Never shy from creating opportunities for grit. Life is a breeze when you always do hard things. They drive cruisers daily, rattles, leaks, smell of gas, rainX. They watch the gauges like hawks and have a keen ear for what is out of the ordinary. Driving from DFW to Ouray the past couple of years was character building in so many ways. Best memories. Keep your kids close to these rigs. It’s amazing.
Truly the best gift.I’ve been trying to think of how to respond to this as it resonates deep. I grew up between a tractor/ welding shop and a high end Indy shop. I built my first go cart from scrap metal and an old Honda 4 wheeler with a stick welder before I was 10. Wet sanded a kx80 frame in my mom’s bathtub. Wild memories that I don’t even remember. Been driving since I was 5. In fact the first time I remember driving was a 78 ford with a gooseneck behind it. Couldn’t have been more than 5-6. Honestly that’s probably my earliest memory. Countless hours in the shop with my dad and step dad. I learned things I still don’t even realized I learned today.
I love how much my kids want to be involved in this cruiser. I adore sharing it with them. It was the first rig my son truly drove on his own in. Clutch and all.
Every time I ask my youngest what she wants to drive and she says “Daddy cruiser” I just smile and can’t tell her no.
Crap I can’t even type this up without being a softy and tearing up.
I’ve never thought of it as the way you described.
GRIT.
Something so so many people lack.
The ability to do what’s hard.
Thank you for the reminder of what the little things can bring to life.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Are you mentally ill? Why is that garage so clean?
Merry Christmas!
I like the wheel/tire combo. How did you get the hubcaps to stay on? I assume you used some clips, but how did you put the clips on? Do you have any pics of the wheel with the hubcap off? Thanx!I wasn’t in love with the wheel tire combo.
And then I stuck the center cap on.
TAKE MY MONEY
