Another week. Anther tank of fuel.

Got my hard top cap 15% more sealed last night. I have seam sealer sitting in the tool box.

Maybe tonight, maybe not.

Once Christmas passes I can focus a few dollars on the 40.

Rear heater is next purchase. Is anyone has one they want to part with for reasonable money please reach out.

Worked on my home brew drip rail some today. Got the rail about 85% finished. Cut my rear corners, seam sealed everything to the cap/ rail and riveted what’s there.
Still need to build the front rail and add some super basic sides to the rail. Then self leveling seam sealer, then paint.

At least 50% of the air leaks are taken care of 🤷

I was last minute Christmas shopping and ended up buying myself a magnetic rechargeable ICON light and a cup holder for the 40. The cup holder needs a little rubber to help with rattles though.

Best thing I did was keep cruisers in the lives of my boys. Grit is key. Never shy from creating opportunities for grit. Life is a breeze when you always do hard things. They drive cruisers daily, rattles, leaks, smell of gas, rainX. They watch the gauges like hawks and have a keen ear for what is out of the ordinary. Driving from DFW to Ouray the past couple of years was character building in so many ways. Best memories. Keep your kids close to these rigs. It’s amazing.

I’ve been trying to think of how to respond to this as it resonates deep. I grew up between a tractor/ welding shop and a high end Indy shop. I built my first go cart from scrap metal and an old Honda 4 wheeler with a stick welder before I was 10. Wet sanded a kx80 frame in my mom’s bathtub. Wild memories that I don’t even remember. Been driving since I was 5. In fact the first time I remember driving was a 78 ford with a gooseneck behind it. Couldn’t have been more than 5-6. Honestly that’s probably my earliest memory. Countless hours in the shop with my dad and step dad. I learned things I still don’t even realized I learned today.

I love how much my kids want to be involved in this cruiser. I adore sharing it with them. It was the first rig my son truly drove on his own in. Clutch and all.
Every time I ask my youngest what she wants to drive and she says “Daddy cruiser” I just smile and can’t tell her no.

Crap I can’t even type this up without being a softy and tearing up.

I’ve never thought of it as the way you described.

GRIT.

Something so so many people lack.
The ability to do what’s hard.

Thank you for the reminder of what the little things can bring to life.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Truly the best gift.
Merry Christmas

Snuck the 40 in the garage today. We did all the holiday things yesterday. Girls have a cold and are just under the weather so I did the dad things and they took a nap.

I got my new shorter power steering belt installed. Sealed up the windshield to hardtop. Diagnosed my speedometer (broken cable due to the knot I had it in). Filled some holes in the tub.
Piddled around more than anything.

Contemplated why I want bigger tires as the Hard top scrubs the door seal coming into the garage.

lts been a minute since it was parked inside.

Found some info in an old thread about door limiter building.

Merry Christmas

I like the wheel/tire combo. How did you get the hubcaps to stay on? I assume you used some clips, but how did you put the clips on? Do you have any pics of the wheel with the hubcap off? Thanx!
So in the picture it was just black tape and I stuck it on for visual reference.

Clips can be “easily” added.

Let me see if I can find the picture I saved from @Chungas Revenge build.

- not in my pictures, I’ll dig it up.

Also these are the clips I have ordered for the install.

Awesome! Thank you so much for posting that. Do those look like rivets or threaded screws to you guys? I can't really tell from the pics.
Screws.

I will post more details when I get to installing my clips on my wheels.

Basic info I got when I inquired was drilled and tapped for the Allen screws to hold the clips on.
