Went and picked the truck up from Harrisonburg va.
Traded my Ford sedan for it. Will get better pics when there isn’t snow everywhere. I’ve been wanting a pickup for over a decade ever since I sold my 86.5 hardbody.
Definitely needs work, was sweating bullets coming down the mountains on 33east for those of you who know.
Was an old mans truck that I’m surmising was used to tow and launch his boat in the bay in Maryland.
I’ll start a thread when I have time

@D21FJ60 You could’ve stopped by and say hi!

Threw some chains on the rear of my 2013 tundra and got back up to the house

Man I forgot you were out that way! I would've but my wife was gracious enough to let me spend the time getting the truck...don't want to abuse the privilege otherwise its an automatic 30 days in solitary :frown:

Picked up a cargo trailer in anticipation for my move to Alaska.

I need to install the brake controller and possibly get a weight distribution hitch, to make the experience safe and enjoyable. You guys have any other input, I'm all ears. I haven't done a tremendous amount of towing, just want to get through BC and the Yukon territory without issue if I can prevent it.

@samatulich - I've never driven up the alcan, but I would suggest bringing two spares for the trailer, a complete hub assembly with bearings already greased, and a few extra lug nuts.

Also - the less weight the better. The wd hitch will help and make sure that you give yourself enough time to drive it around a little to make sure that the weight is distributed properly.

Safe travels!

@bkfj40, good idea on the hub assembly and having everything greased before hand. I figured on a spare and will see about a second. Never would have thought to get a few extra lug nuts, but will make sure to have some on hand.
Looking at those WD hitches, I'm not even sure where to start. From what I've read, I should be considering the total tongue weight between the trailer and whats aft of the rear axle. I'm guessing thats what you mean by driving around and adjusting the weight of the load. Was looking into the 500-800 lbs class of those hitches.

What did I do with my Sequioa? I bought it!

And then I took it on a hot date to watch the sun set. Ok, I brought my wife too...

Prepping for a lift and 33’s (maybe 34’s?) and need a step for the little ones and wife, with some strength for trails. Probably fork out for some one day but having fun with a little project and all square tubing. Don’t have a bender to do custom work with the nice DOM stuff. We’ll see how they hold up! 1 side tacked up.

That's a pretty high-effort job, yes? How much time did it take?
Very easy. 10-20 minutes tops. There’s a very good youtube video for how to do it.
