This isn't as bad as "where's my air filter?" but it's close... the upper airbox has a pad in it that looks like a secondary air filter, but I see no part number for just it, and it doesn't seem to be serviceable without replacing the entire upper airbox. Mine's dirty and I'm wondering if I should replace it, but it's a $275ish part from what I'm seeing online. The best I can do is remove the MAF sensor and vacuum/blow it out with a shop vac. Any ideas? FIGO? Replace? Cut it out because I know better than the Toyota engineers?

Pic stolen from eBay for reference.

Do you have a manual in the glove box? Look up changing air filter.

This is not serviceable as it is plastic welded into the air box cover. It is a charcoal filter designed to absorb gas fumes. I pulled mine out and haven't noticed any difference in fumes, ect.

Yep, that's what I found.

I realize. But whatever you're doing should be in the manual if it needs/can be serviced. But I've not seen that
kind of thing before. I've got a 2010 Tundra with 5.7 but maybe it is I haven't looked that far.

No, I mean I found that it's a charcoal filter. Nothing in the owners manual about it. I blew it out with a shop vac and called it a day.
