I actually know a guy with a camper conversion van with a V8 for sale at that price. Has the extended roof, etc. not sure if it is extra long though. Can ask and report back.

I got them from a couple in Charlotte off of Craigslist, they can get whatever style you want evidently and I have their phone number. Only thing I am not sure about is the height over stock, heads a little close to the roof. Might try and come up with something to lower them down.

My driver seat was kind of high but I noticed the passenger was about perfect. Did a little checking and realized the power height adjustment wasn't all the way down on the drivers side. Ran a jumper wire to get juice and lowered the seat down, now it is only slightly higher than the worn out seats I pulled out. The plastic on the side is flush wit the metal on the slider if its all the way down. Look at the passenger side for reference. Full instructions are in the thread in the 60 section. just search pt cruiser seats.

Got pics in my build thread.

I did read your thread and it was part of my drive to have a comfortable seat. I actually took off all of the frame/motors that adjusts the height. I wanted to get all of that out of the way to make it as low of a mount as possible. I would like to get the slide adjustment rails down to where they are basically sitting on the ridges that the seats mount to. Keep forgetting to duck my head getting in/out.

Tried white wagon (80) wheels on the pickup for a change. Picked up some 315s from 77cruiser and a couple cans of rustoleum, gave white a try for a change.

Reinstalled hard top and doors with new weatherstripping
1st oil change after rebuild in 45
Wired up a cig lighter so I can keep the phone charged during the day
Put some hwy miles on the 45 to realize it runs hot at hwy speed
Installed caster plates and reinstalled rear shaft in 80 , drives straight for first time in 6 yrs

All in all a pretty good wrenching weekend but it did reveal a few new projects .... DC shaft for 80. Bigger/better radiator in 45, new front shaft in 45 as too much angle for 4wd to be happy , anybody need a freshly tubed and lubed front shaft around 27" flange to flange let me know.

I actually did something this weekend on my cruiser. Finally got around to replacing my drivers seat cover and installing the much needed armrest. Also replaced the drivers mirror assembly.

Helped someone put in a stereo and he gave me a set of speakers he had. Mine were shot. New speakers in the back of the 62. I need to get a set of the rear speaker housings from someone parting out a 60 series so I can put a better set up front.

Pretty sure these were original equipment.

Nice score Scott, unless the later year 60's came with them I think most rear speakers are aftermarket. I had mine put in my a local shop years ago...may be able to find some sort of housing out of a yota in the junk yard if you're lookin to go cheap.

Yes they are stock. I've yet to replace a set that didn't look like that. Done a half dozen of them so far.

Made a little change to the hood of my 80. Hmmm wonder what that's about :)

Scott I remember that rear speakers were a stock option way back then. Last weekend gave the beast a little work out. Helped John cut up and load some big trees to dump. Rigged a gin pole and used the warn to lift the stumps onto the trailer! Picked up the whole front end of the 60 30 inches or so before the last roots let go.

This week I finally got my 73 FJ40 to run. Was pretty exciting to hear it at last. This was a basic basket case to start with. Not able to drive it just yet as I still need brakes but my list of MUST have is getting very short now.

Helluva weekend...

1. Replaced a worn-the-slap-out-can't-believe-it U-joint.
2. Dropped the trans pan, cleaned the strainer & magnets, replaced 5qts of synthetic WS type fluid.
3. Discovered my rear ring gear is toast again (appx 6 months old)!!
4. Front windshield played connect the dots this morning with the sub freezing temps and a strategically placed pothole. I now have a crack running all the way across the bottom of my view.

Dang Rick, you sure do use the hell out of your FJC. What was the bad side of your U-joint attached to? The opposite points on the yoke look good. Hope that you and Kat have a great holiday season.

I know where a clean looking (from the road) mid -late 80s Wagoneer has been sitting for at least 3 years that I know of, I think about you guys whenever I see it.
