Turbo?

Got new tires on the 80 Cooper AT3 285's.

Rear bumper installed on the 40, now to modify it to hold a shovel, axe, lug wrench and put a lock on it so someone cannot open it to open the now flying open back doors... I do have to rewire the tail lights and license light.

I ordered rear hatch struts, a CDL and the clam shell around the steering column... I also got new o2 sensors and need to put them in.

I got a new pulley for the saginaw pump for the 40 so maybe I can reduce the steering sensitivity. I may go to an even larger pulley or change out the valve in the pump if this is not how I want it.

Went to Black Balsam on Friday. Drove in and stayed a while. We weren't staying the night so I decided to drive out before the trail got dark.
In a little bit of a rush after talking to Marshall for a few minutes, I jacked up my right side running board on one nasty rock that gave me a fit on the way in.
Oh well; I am getting sliders in the spring anyhow. Now I'm thinking of a matching 2" lift too.
Took the boards off Saturday.

Held Peep like a baby.

Had to work on the front of the FJC to better clear the new 35s.

Here is what I started with.

Cut out some of the plastic inner fender cover.

Notched the pinch weld for trimming.

Trimmed said pinch weld.

Trimmed the stock fender trim.

Drove the 4runner ~ 1300 miles, 2 national parks ,1 zoo, 1 creation museum, 2 nights caping, 2 nights in a hotel and 2 nights with friends.

What I learned.... we need rotors and front brakes, I need to remove the BL, and its time for me to make a decision about tires. Oh and we need more space in a vehicle.

Got new Cooper AT3's in 285....drove the 80 to Cataloochee, stayed a night with my gf, her first ever camping experience,, now she is hooked.

Then drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cherokee, she did great as expected. I will be pulling the viscous coupler, installing a CDL, 7 pin mod, re-installing the front drive shaft, and replacing the O2 sensors.

I wired in a fuse panel on the firewall just in front of the driver in the engine compartment, and wired up the Engel. I had a bad control module in the Engel Combi, got it replaced with the wrong one (only difference is the right one supports the LCD temp readout) the Combi did great too!! Kind of big, but kept my Maryland style Crab Cakes and Ahi tuna at the perfect temperature for Monday breakfast and lunch... neighbors in the campground were a little jealous when they heard what we were eating.

I got the wire extensions made for the new rear bumper on the 40, though I should have put disconnects inline if I ever decide to remove the bumper it would be easier to remove without removing all the lights and wiring..., but since it took me a plasma cutter and 2 days, I doubt it is coming off anytime soon...

Picked this one up in Raleigh today, building stock, this is #3

that was fast! is it night and day difference?

yes it a fairly stark difference, feels like there is a V8 under the hood now :grinpimp:

I don't know if I'd pay $3000-$3500 to have a new installed by a dealer, but for the $1500 I have in mine I am very happy with the investment. I plan to get a small camping trailer to pull behind the 4runner and I think the supercharger will greatly improve that experience over stock.

New Seats

Seats are a great improvement over the tired ones that came out. 2008 PT Cruiser cloth, cleaned deeply to get any 5 pointed star disease out of them.

I have the old seats if anybody wants them(no frame), the headrests are actually in good shape and some old SOR seat covers that are in good shape but very faded.
