My 1994 80 moved me into my new digs! Thanks Toyota...

I thought you were chopping your 80? And you need to paint inside the rear wheel wells. Jesus dude! Quit slacking!

Drool! How does that compare to the ST Maxx?

I had the ST Maxx on my 70 series. I have always run BFG AT KOs but gave the Coopers a shot. Loved them. Will run them on my 80 when the time comes. They handled great in the snow as well which I'm sure is a concern of yours...

So got my exhaust fixed. Went to a local muffler shop after a long time searching and debating on whether I should get a Bosal or Walker and do it myself. After reading the reviews of them not being that great and having to modify them I let the muffler shop put a universal muffler in it and a couple of hangers for $90. Sounds pretty good actually.

View attachment 1143130 Borrowed my friend's anti-theft system and installed it. Installation was fairly simple, and it seems to be working really well...
That is a nice dog. Unlike some of those footballs some people call dogs, I would never own one of those.

Baby steps! Had to fix my steering and do the front crank/oil pump seals. That was not fun

I replaced the clogged/defective zerk fittings and greased my slip yokes this morning, perhaps for the first time in a while.

BACK STORY: A week ago, late at night and about 10 miles from home, El Guapo started making a weird noise (imagine a spray can inside a dryer). The next evening I went to Bmac19961cc's house, and he correctly diagnosed, and then found the busted exhaust mount cushion which would allow the exhaust to rattle and/or bump against the drivetrain.

Sometime during our discussion, the topic of the u-joints came up. I said all four were replaced recently and should be fine. Bmac checked them anyway and told me the very back one was going bad. I checked my mechanic's invoice and they had been replaced last May and had a life-time warranty. The next day my mechanic confirmed the bad u-joint (and chided me yet again about how rough off-road driving is on a vehicle), and ordered the replacement parts.

When I picked up El Guapo yesterday at the end of the day, my mechanic talked about the need to re-lube every time after the drivetrain is immersed in water or mud for an extended period. He said he lubed everything, except the slip yokes, because the fittings were bad, and he didn't have any that size. I said I'd do it.

After a long hunt and stressful wait, we finally moved from an apartment to our new home.
Good thing my 80 is not my DD anymore because it would suck to drive through Altamont Pass everyday!

Our two kids love having their own backyard. And of course, a new driveway for my 80 instead of the street parking.
Too bad it won't fit in the garage..

And my son had already marked his room!

For the record. When I said "Nothing a sawzall can't fix." I was referring to the garage. Not the 80. Don't you dare sawzall the 80!

Got my new LED headlights working (polarity was reversed on the plug, thanks 97grenmonster)

Removed the non operational lights in my arb:

& added a set of Kawell driving lights in place of the Arb indicators:

While I had the lights apart I swapped in a set of LED bulbs into the parking lights as well:

I have not taken any nite shots of the lights in action, but they are great! The Kawells are the spot version, and do a great job of keeping the beam low and wide. They should do well in fog. The led low beams are exactly what I had hoped they would be: useable light. Driving around downtown Columbus, I had no problems with other drivers or the handful of police that ended up across from me @ redlights.

Everything is more visible , it's like my lx450 has the headlights from my sc430.

The Kawells seem pretty durable, heavy lenses, wiring and alloy body. I mounted them with the logo facing down.
$65 total investment, we'll see how things hold up.

I kept my OEM halogen bulbs in the high beams. There is a significant difference in initial heat output between the two:

Which ones did you use?

What did you do to aim them? Or are you just happy with where the light is now? Where did you get them?
