Holy ****! My uncle made me learn using a high lift and beer in place of the soapy water. Ah to be 16 again

He taught you to WASTE BEER? If you're out on the trail, you can DRINK the beer, then PEE on the tire, but by GOD, don't WASTE the beer!!!!

I figured you'd come around. ;)

Don't get crazy. It's still not back in the Top 5 yet. If you had done the Gen III 4Runner hood scoop we'd be having a different discussion. But you had to use a Ford product. Man. The pain.

Returned to beautiful Nevada for the summer and hit up Lake Tahoe for some night pics

Well technically it is NOT a Ford part. It 100% aftermarket with no markings or anything that tie it to Ford, other than the place sells them calling them a "mustang style" scoop. So maybe you can rest a bit easier now. :)

A little bit... Haha

It is the end of "helicopter" season here in Iowa. So, I cleaned out under the metal thingy at the base of my windshield. I've blown out from the top side regularly, about 3-4 times per week but clearly I need to come up with a better game plan for next year. This isn't fesh fesh but this stuff is like asbestos. Fish hooks. Pain in the a$$!

This is deceiving. About 2 gallons of "stuff".

Took the time to make a ratcheting screw driver out of a cheapo combo rachet. Took a Phillips bit and grinded to of the six sides down flat to make it a square. Then ran some electrical tape around it and smacked it in to the 1/4" ratchet so it was snug. Worked like a champ. Way easier that the Z screwdriver I had been using previously.

I know what you mean about the helicopters!

They get stuck down in the fender wells and rust out everything! Gotta suck'em out or blow'em, or wash'em, or rub'em.........What were we talking about?

Yep. Between the freaking salt in the winter and the helicopters in the spring it is amazing I have kept my 80 rust free.

Speaking of which, I just thought about it. I've gone through 4 pressure washers in 23 years keeping my 80 rust free. I wish Toyota made a pressure washer...

attach a "teq" logo to that tool and you'll make a fortune here.

I took off my right fender tonight to install a snorkel, and omfg!!!! How did all that s*** get up in there, anyway?

I have an itty bitty Stanley combination bit-driver/8 mm ratcheting wrench that is absolutely perfect for that.

Yep. It's amazing how much crap gets stuck in there. I'm anal retentive about cleaning all of the nooks and crannies out but damn there are so many areas to collect "stuff".

I've always wanted a small racheting screwdriver combo kit. I've seen them. Just never bought one. I have had this combo ratchet thing for 20+ years. Just sitting there. Never used it. Not even sure where it came from. It did the trick.

Btw, I buttoned everything back up and drove to the store real quick. Got out and it was pouring rain. Turned on my windshield wipers and oops, they were sitting on my front passenger seat. Forgot to put them back on. :bang: Good thing I had the Rain X on the windshield but it still made it a little sketchy driving. I was able to make it to a car wash to pull in and put the wiper arms back on.
