I can't believe you posted a hundred year old black and white picture of a Toyota dashboard.

As I noted real pictures to come.

The phone mount install went basically the same as the instructions I posted. Behind the dash panel to the right of the ashtray is where it screws into. No cutting or "shaving down" of the dash panel was needed.

Went out to a small off road park today with a friend with a 100 series. Reminds me why I don't go to small off road parks. No real adventure and some bad Jeep drivers.

Is that Wheel Zone? I've been wanting to check it out once it dries out, but it keeps raining. Is it worth it just to at least get a little seat time offroad?

Yeah it's wheel zone. Pretty small area. There's some uneven dirt gardens...one is full of old bricks, glass, and trash. The other isn't bad, but it's in the middle of a field so no real adventure. I guess it's pretty good for central Oklahoma because it's at least legal. Lots of mud there, but there are some trails too. I found most to be suited more towards 2 door J**ps. I had to back out of one trail because the 80 was too long to maneuver around through some trees.

You installed a phone holder bracket for a 100 series in your 80? Any mods required? Any actual pics of it in your 80?

I have the same mount installed. I have a crazy expensive quick-release that I use for my phone that is common to the film industry. It works great but I just hate the location. Needs to be higher.

I had the same style mount in my '96 Hilux Surf, but with it being RHD I had to bend the bracket so it was parallel to the dash, rather than angled towards the passenger (in my application). I've got some switches to the left of my steering wheel on my HDJ81, so I don't think this style would work for me anyways, but I'm always looking for a better solution.

Couldn't bring myself to pay for a jerry can holder.

This one holds 2 20l cans and will have a locking turn to close clasp.

Nice work. Where are you mounting this?

What about K-Trail, or Clayton or Hot Springs? All too far?

I was in the same boat & made my own. Not as good as yours but it was a test run for my welding. The price they want for those things is stupid.

Most of Arkansas is pretty far for quick one night weekend trips. I went out there a couple weekends ago and probably spent 5 and a half to 6 hours on the road just to get to National Forest access. Then there's the K trail which I kind of wanted to run until I heard from some people about recent issues on the K trail. Apparently someone local recently sunk a bunch of spikes in the mud holes and people were losing their tires left and right.
