- Installed a second fridge (Dometic CDF-11) which will be used as a freezer. This fits perfectly between the front seats, and as a bonus has two cup holders!

Do you have a thread on this? More pictures? How did you secure and power it? Also does it clear the hand brake? After thinking about probably will get one for the minivan. How much was it and where did you get it from, amazon has it for 336 and rvpartscountry.com has it for 290 shipped but has bad reputation online.

Thanks

Purchased from RVpartscountry. Was skeptical as well, but I received it within 3 days of ordering. No complaints so far.

It's plugged into a 12V outlet installed on the passenger side of the center console. The outlet is wired to a blue sea fuse box mounted under the passenger seat.

I have not built a thread on it, because I haven't permanently secured it yet. I do have more pictures I can upload this afternoon, if you like.
We are headed out on a 6 week overlanding trip, leaving this weekend, so didn't have time to fabricate anything. There is another guy who posted a thread a few days ago, who did the same thing, and shows his fabrication. The cooler fits perfectly width wise, though I can't wrap my hand around the e-brake handle, just have to pull up on the drivers side.

I want to try it out on this trip first before I permantly fabricate a mount. It's currently sitting on top of the cd changer via industrial strength velcro. It's solid and will work for our trip.

Changed me oil, and oil filter. I read the thread about oil and went with a 10w/40 since they didn't have the 15w. As soon as I turned Mrs. Jones on with the fresh heavier oil she was a lot quieter and smoother, I also put Lucas cleaner in the gas tank. Picking up my K&N air filter today. I would like to add that the K&N oil filter might be worth every penny whopping $16 compare to the $4 I spend on fram. K&N is bigger and the filter looks better too, Mrs. Jones is worth every penny... Of course I get the Military Discount and Autozone membership discount on top of it. I did buy a fuel filter from auto zone, but I feel its a cheapo, I want to check for better ones.

Did you remove your rear heater?

I would recommend reading at least one of the 100 or so threads discussing K&N.

Yup! Stay away for K&N anything and I generally avoid pennzoil as well. Much better alternatives out there for the same price.

If you have costco near by their chevron or delo oils are dirt cheap when on sale.

I'm sure oils have changed in 20 years but back when I was rebuilding engines we could generally tell which oils were used. Pennsylvania crude was not high on our list. Penzoil and Quaker State used the same crude base. Again, I'm sure everything has changed.

I did a bit of reading on K&N air filters and it seems that they don't perform well in off road conditions, smaller size, and they can't be cleaned unlike the oem filter. So I will stay away from the air filter, but the oil filter received good results on the ih8mud oil filter threads, it was up there with mobil 1 oil filters. I guess your opinions are your preference about K&N.
I read good things about the Pennzoil, specifically the high mileage while reading about synthetic high mileage blends on Ih8mud threads , whether it was 5w/40 or 10w/40. I think I made a good choice.

Searching the 80 Series forum there sure isn't much that turns up good for Pennzoil. Most of the 6 pages of posts are many years old as well.

Cool trip. If you need a anything I'm two hours north of glacier. Which side of the park are you going? I heard the road the sun opening is behind schedule this year.

Awesome, that's going to be an epic trip joey!

Thanks again for the spare hands btw! Been putting on miles to make sure everything is good. My little brother lands at LAX Tues morning and we are on the 395 right after ;)

Sure you don't want to go? :P

I actually know nothing about Glacier as I've never been so I'm all ears if you have suggestions. Been to Yellowstone a few times but never made it North enough.

I will PM you.

Don't look to me for good advice. Just moved here and not ventured much in that direction. Was hoping to follow in your tracks later this summer. I can ask around though.
