You should look into a corolla. Stick to Toyota. VW will leave you broke.....and mad on the side of the road.

There are lots of nice Camrys out there too! My step-daughter drives one my wife started out with in the mid-90s and it's still running strong. The missus now drives her snazzy Avalon.

Vote: Toyota.

Took the family camping at Nehalem Bay State Park. Checked out Hug Point, Cannon Beach, and Astoria. All in Oregon. The new to me Engel Fridge/Freezer and my full length ARB roof rack were great for camping. We had a great time and it was our first family camping trip. Already scheduled three more locations to camp.

As many places I have lived over the years I find myself saying "I don't think I could leave the PNW now."

Loaded up the poles and took my nearly 4 year old son fishing with my father for father's day. He caught his first fish, a small bluegill and was super excited, good times were had, the cruiser performed flawlessly too.

Broke yet another vise. This one was a "heavy duty" Wilson that weighed about 50 pounds. I broke it trying to hold my tie rod so I could change the TRE.

so, regardless of the vise, I put new TRE's from Cruiser Outfitters on the 80. steering wobble reduced by 90%. Next will be the drag link bushing

Built and installed my storage/sleeping system. Just have to finish it off with some sealer.

Bought a 1995 FZJ80 last night. She's 260,000 miles young. Got one heck of a deal on her, but for pretty good reason. PO decided to top off brake fluid with power steering fluid. Needless to say his brakes weren't working correctly and his local mechanic quoted him a hefty price to fix it. So I bought it. Today I flushed the complete brake system with clean brake fluid and bled all of the calipers. Brakes work like a champ now. Also installed a CDL switch.

Cool story. Did the previous owner have sandpaper palms? (Shifter)

Am in the process of re-building the brake calipers with my 18 yr old son. Overall, he is doing a great job.

Took the driveshafts off having them rebalanced and new u joints installed. 2 years ago when I rebuilt the frotn axle I decided to go cheap with the wheel bearings and bought the cheapest ones I could find and now I am replacing the front PS ones. This time I bought all OEM stuff. I also bought everything for the DS.

Looks like you guys had a great time! Great photos ... family time like that is precious.

And I got my LC back from my mechanic after a transmission oil change. Going to take her out this weekend with the boyz. Mommy has a meeting at church on Saturday so we're doing a Guys Day Out. LOL

Changed gear oil in both differentials and the transfer case. Also, re-taped my air intake hose as the existing tape was dry rotted and cracked through. Looks pretty professional.
