Cut the channel for mounting the winch behind the stock bumper. Monstalined some of the later style rear bumper wings and a later style front and installed. Removed the flares in prep for paint and decided to have the holes welded rather than put them back on when I do it.

One of the best free mods ! Extended the alarm antenna and now I don't have to be right next to the door for it to work.

Also programmed it so it chirps when is locked or unlocked and now i don't have to double check every time, Also the alarm no longer automatically sets if all doors are closed for a few seconds.

Nice little tour, and an ultra

So I started out the long way to Bryce Canyon. I was helping out with an aid station for the Bryce 100, left a couple days early and saw some new country.

During the race didn't get a lot of photos, any actually except for this piss poor shot at night. We were too busy bringing people back to life!

We were at mile 20/80. There were some hurtin folks out there! Got a couple good runs in too!

Did a complete front axle maintenance and swapped the birfs on my 93. Had some clicking on the driver side (complete with birf soup) but the passenger side was ok. Thank you Romer and everyone who contributed to the FAQ. Despite a couple things that were different (or wrong) in the FAQ it was very clear and led me straight through the project.

Now that I am more confident on the front axle, hopefully next week I can go run a couple trails for the first time since I got this at the end of last year (12/30). I am looking forward to testing the lockers (and the new CDL that I got CDan to put in the box of axle parts for me!)

Took a ride to Uhwarrie and around Badin lake. Good times

I took a few days off last week and did a bunch of maintenance.
Front axle rebuild, painted axle ends, knuckles and dust shields
Replaced front crank seal and oil pump cover gasket
Had fuel injectors cleaned by WitchHunter Performance
Replaced valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals and spark plugs
Cleaned upper intake and throttle body
Replaced all vacuum and fuel hoses connected to intake and throttle body
Replaced fuel filters
Replaced water valve (one hose barb gone)
Replaced PHH and FHH with silicone hose and constant torque clamps
Re-wrapped engine wire harness near EGR valve

Did the PHH - Brutal

Hi,

This is my first post on this forum. Greetings, everyone. I have read lots of great tips and info here, and I want to start by saying thanks to everyone for contributing.

So, I did the PHH job with the 12 mm Gearwrench tool and installed the silicone hose kit with the Breeze clamps. I must say this job was brutal. It took me about three hours. Over half of that was just messing with that darn lower bolt on the metal tube bracket. If I had it to do over again, I would do the PHH-ectomy and bypass the metal tube entirely and install one long piece of silicone hose. That would be my advice to anyone doing the PHH job.

In other news, I put new Falken Rocky Mountain ATS II 285/75 16 tires on my rig about a week ago and I'm finally getting ready to hit some trails.

I bought my navy blue 1996 FZJ80 just five weeks ago at a Ford dealership in the CA Bay Area for $7200. It has 215K on the clock and drives fantastic. The body is super straight, no aftermarket paint or body work. I had the transmission serviced at a local shop (pulled the pan, installed a new filter and fluid - and they said the trans is in great shape), and installed the CoverKing neoprene seat covers from Costco, though my original leather was in really good shape, no tears or holes at all. Generally, the truck looks and drives great. The front of the engine has a little high pitched whine (fan belt?) which I haven't addressed yet, but so far I'm loving my Land Cruiser.

Thanks,
Russell

Welcome :flipoff2:

Now we need pics, we really don't care about the tech stuff here. ;)

Replaced all belts, recharged A/C (leak check to follow), oil change, and installed the beefy IPOR skid plate.

Opened Pandora's Box

Well, first of all the baby is down awaiting a new AFM, so I figured while I had some down time, I'd do a bunch of stuff that I've been putting off. So, I removed the radiator and all accompanying items to get to the Power Steering hoses and replaced them, but figured while I had easy access I'd go ahead and replace belts and hoses. No problem so far, except that one of the tubes broke on the radiator during removal and it is not repairable, so I have a new radiator on order. Then, I've not been able to find the hose that comes off of the water pump at any local retailer, so I'll have to order that and wait longer to button her up. Good news is that once I get it all together, she should run much better and relatively leak free for the first time in a long time! I just hate waiting for parts!!!!:bang:

been sat waiting for a new alternator ... was promised next day delivery ... that was nearly a week ago

Not really this weekend but got home from work today, opened the garage door and noticed the cruiser was really leaning to one side. Walked around to the other side and the PS rear tire was almost flat. Since my procomp extreme AT were at 4/32 thread left I decided it was time to buy new tires. So I went down to a local tire store and ordered a 4 new goodyear wrangler duratracs. I already had one new one as a spare. 315/75/16. Pics tommorow before and after. I know that there has been a million pics of people with new duratracs posted but I am really happy about this purchase. My tires were so worn out that it just gave the whole cruiser a bad look. THe new tires are really going to change the look.

No pics yet, but pulled the axles and the diff out and sent the diff to get stuffed with a ARB locker. She sits on jack stand patiently waiting for her front legs!

It was hot out, so we took the kido up a mountain in the 80, and hiked to a waterfall to cool off.

Beats turning wrenches. I did wash and wax it during the prior week though.

Went to the river for overnight bug testing on the CampTeq screening- No worries when it comes to bugs.

Checking for dust inside while airing up after 50 miles of dirt road - Some fine dust found at the rear but no more then inside the cab with windows up and AC on. Dust conclusion:meh:

Haven't done much with the 80 as of late. But, did pick up this over the weekend. So now I can dump the running boards on my 80 and keep a few miles off her.

Very nice Pete! Looking forward the catching up at the lake house with family....

Got some new tires installed today... 255/85/16. Im really liking the look and performance so far.
