Actually drove it a bit this weekend. After doing shift solenoids and starter rebuild i have currently nothing to complain about.

Also went to home depot and bought a huge grill.

PHH. Done. Only had the parts for 5 years. Starter rebuild is next.

Installed depo clear lenses and hooked up my halos while I was in there.

Hurculined the roof today. Put it off for a while but got to it today finally!

Lubed both drive shafts, all U-joints at 236K miles,
then took a trip to Discount to have the KM2's flipped laces out and cleaned the white walls.

:meh: Looks kinda Tonka Truck.

Looks good flank.

Dove into my doors & rebuilt the window motors. They work rolling down, but not enough umph to get the windows back up :/

Turned a 15 minute job into a weekend job.
Spun off a stud on the inner most O2 sensor. Then when unbolting the exhaust pipe, the top bold stripped out. I spent the next 45 minutes with the Dremel ( since its the only power tool that'd fit ) and ground it off.
So now I'm dealing with extracting the stud from the pipe. Figured since one side is off, I might as well replace the gaskets in them both.

I also realized I have ceramic coated pipes now. After hitting up some red clay and driving home in the summer heat, the red on the pipe isn't rust. It's baked on clay aka ceramic

Washed the salt off of the undercarriage, nice bath and a quick spray wax a few weeks ago. Since buying the Tacoma the 80 has been taking a well deserved rest.

Going to stretch her legs this weekend and then drive her to work this week.

As much as I like the Tacoma it feels really good to get in the seat of the 80, big, heavy and smooth. Oh yeah!

Where did you get the cupholder for that mod I pulled one from a 90's taurus but I have a 97 so the dash gets in the way.

Here's mine

Found out the PO on my truck didn't replace the antenna properly - he just cut the old antenna wire inside the fender and installed the new antenna but hid the wires in the fender without connecting them. He lived out in the boonies, so when I checked the stereo it seemed to work ok but with very poor reception - DUH! So I had to run the new antenna through the firewall (existing grommet with two spare "bulbs" available).

Question: Is the fender supposed to be glued on? I thought it was supposed to be relatively easy to remove the outer fender, but when I removed the bolts in the wheel well I found that they were all covered with something that looks like a mastic. Maybe a sound dampener? Some form of thick under coating? Is that normal?

I would have gone a little closer to the stock routing if I could have gotten the fender off.

Whats the bar over the rear windows? Security??

HDJ81's have something similar to keep cargo from hitting the glass, I'm guessing this is for the same purpose.

Actually it's to keep our 60# lab from getting all the way out the window and jumping from the cruiser. I made them from junk I had in the garage but more or less copied the hdj81 idea.
