My son and I started in on some maintenance items that have been long coming...

We pulled the valve cover and have it soaking, to get all of the baked on grease off along with the throttle body and will be giving it a good cleaning before reinstall!

Felt good to dive into a job I had never done before, plus it was good to spend time with my 17.5 year old son. Feels like this time will pass very soon, as he is looking at colleges and the idea of moving out in less than a year...

Started chasing a charging system gremlin and blew my head light relay in the process. Also found a new Passenger side mirror and rear hatch struts at the local pull-a-part.

Went to help haul my uncle's toys...

My uncle lived in Salinas, Ca and lived in a trailer with all his toys.. Junk or not... I helped him haul them to bigger real estate he just bought...

Here are few of the pictures i've taken.

In the middle of a HG replacement!!

good deeds awaits good results... well, kind of...

So after hauling my uncle's toys...
He gave me his old snorkel he took off from his 80 before he sold it. And installed it!

We didn't have a template so it was all done by sight only...:mad::eek: He was a bit off and a bit on the high side. It covered the antenna a little bit but didn't affect it.

I was surprised that it was pretty much flushed on the fender, just a hair off. Well, to some that are perfectionist, this is not good, but though i don't think i will have the need for it, it's FREE and it looks good! :bounce::bounce2:

Installed a new inner axle seal. I really dig the pic I took during the process. :)

I envy the amount of space available in your garage.
