I am liking the blacked out grill and light bezel...![]()
I cured what I think was the onset of "Death wobble" with new (OEM) shocks and a relay rod end.
and fitted 30mm spacers at the front, at the same time.

now it looks like bigger shoes required again, or at least spacers in the meantime.

nope, nothing addictive about this at all lol
That is a really nice looking 80.
How'd you like the 2WD action?
Since plagued with DS issues, have had plenty of time to test in 2wd and personally don't care much for it, justification to get a front shaft that works, opposed to a part time kit.
.Finally got around to installing my diff breather extensions. But I cannot take any credit, I must give full credit to Matt, aka: Mattnatti, he really gave me the help I needed, while I attended to my 4.5 month old.
Thank you Matt!
I took my 80 camping and it's first real four wheeling of any type. We climbed muddy hills, was able to flex the suspension to the point of slight rubbing, was able to utilize lockers in a couple spots, crossed creeks. I like her even more.
I started out last week with a dead battery. I had been contemplating buying a new one, and this just made that choise easier. I got the Sears DieHard Marine 31M (PM-1) on sale for ~$250. Also picked up a battery tender and longer hold downs. I cleaned up the battery hold down bar and cut in half. I picked up some L¾” X ¾” X ¼” and cut a piece 13" long, then welded the old pieces to the angle, ground the welds smooth and painted.
Also started installing additional 12V power the the front and rear consoles and installed the Cobra 75 WXST at the front console. Performed the grey wire mod as well.
Hey i could swear that i've seen those dual 12v outlet panels a bunch of times but cannot for the life of me remember who makes them / where to buy them?
