Went on a little wheeln trip
Got stuck in a group with some heep guys who were not cool, go figure
Except for one guy in a really nice built Rubicon he was all business.
And one guy in a nicely built Tundra that also let his rig do the talking
Heard lots of grumbling about how a toyota cant do this and that and heeps are the best
Very tight terrain and lots of you cant fit through there and you wont be able to go there
I just kept my mouth shut and smiled and let the 80 do the talking
Lots of tree rubbing and leaning some smallish dents or impressions and scratches but all was good
Quite a few pucker factor off camber areas nothing alittle tree leaning and rubbing to help with that problem;)
Did all of this while pretty much fully loaded with 3 other adults along for the ride
They call it the Rock Caddy
LineX on the body rocks
Well you all know how the rest of the story went
Tested the rebuilt front end with the new lock right
Worked great
Now I just need to get rid of that PITA GRRRR in the front shaft.

Drove all over Klamath County. Fished, hiked, and shot some targets. Think I've got a bad wheel bearing, definitely need to replace the serpentine belt.

Where you finding a serpentine belt for that???

Waited all weekend for it to be Monday so I can get my new heavy duty nuts and one last stud delivered for my fan clutch so I can get my truck going again :crybaby:

I looked at my truck and came up with a larger to do list before I go out west this summer. On board shower RTT 12 volt fridge etc. Also install my newly purchades stock lockers Linex the bottom half of the truck build a front bumper add sliders and build a gas can holder for the rear bumper. thats the short list I think.

First mod in probably 2 years.

Harry, good to hear from you my friend. Where have you been??? Bumper looks sweet. Can't blame you for just sitting and staring at it!

Pulled all the seats and cleaned the interior. Rented a rug doctor with upholstery attachment added some folex and went to town on the carpets. 90% of the stains gone and a ton of dirt taken out. Black water in the recovery tank. Husky liner arriving this week to help keep the carpets clean.

Cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor with all new jets, float needle and seat, gaskets, etc.

Hey Brent, been super busy with work and being a married man. Got married last summer and bought a house, so the 80 got put on the back burner. I hope you have been well. Nice to hear from you.

I couldn't give up the deal on the bumper, especially with a free winch :)

The to do list was as follows:
1. Change oil
2. Replace T-stat
3. Replace fan clutch with new blue moded fan clutch.

The got done list is as follows:
1. No oil change
2. No t-stat replacement
3. No fan clutch replaced
4. Pulled trailer to dump with all the things from the yardsale we did not sell and did not want to keep.

Story of my life... :(

Checked under the hood of my 96 and found the likely cause of a P0401 that returned - a vacuum hose had popped off the modulator. Took the opportunity to replace 6 or 7 vacuum hoses while I was in there.

Discovered my 97 has the same "wet rear seatbelt" issues as my 96, so I'll be digging into that soon.

Glanced at it a couple times as it sat in the driveway not drinking gas :meh:

Walked past it 3 times in the garage with the batteries disconnected wishing I was able to use it.

Cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor with all new jets, float needle and seat, gaskets, etc.

Did a double-take on the carb rebuild until I saw your location;)

Any good places to wheel?:D

Any good 4x4 shops?:wrench:

Eeeeewww. Whats this about?

Pretty sure my rear slider windows are leaking onto the DS 2nd and 3rd row seatbelts. Fairly common from what I've heard.

Took the :princess: and six kids to Tombstone. Good times!

Finished my AC rebuild. Very important repair here!

Painted my wheel coves graphite, ala the '97 40th and LX450. They had seen better days and I had been wanting to do this for quite some time. Really makes the 5-spokes stand out now and adds some more depth.

Please accept my apologies for the BFG Rugged Trails. They're getting replaced with some 285 ATs soon. :p

Actually, they have held up very well during light trail duty and the highway manners are nice. I can't complain.
