I was surprised to see how little of a premium the tres locked rigs demanded according to their research honestly. Something like $1800 IIRC? I can add lockers for that!
I thought the same thing when I read it but IMHO I don't think that's the case. When you look at the % of 3X locked rigs, it's a very low number. Having that option raises the price a lot more than stated.

In the continued baseline I'm doing on my new to me 80, this week I did a cooling system refresh. New aisin water pump as the aftermarket one it came with had a tiny bit of bearing play, new OEM thermostat and associated gaskets/hardware, all three new OEM radiator hoses, replaced all of the heater/water pump bypass/oil cooler hoses along the front and bottom of the engine (need to make another parts list for the molded ones at the firewall). Installed a used OEM fan shroud since the rig didn't come with one. I had planned on replacing all the tie rod ends as well but I screwed up and ordered a kit for rhd. Luckily for me cruiser outfitters is taking care of me and getting that swapped out. No pics of the work taking place but I did take one of the sweet ass sticker I got with my order. Also, my most recent tank of gas got me 12.15 mpg which isn't anything to brag about but falls in line with what these rigs average and is a good 30% increase from the 9.6 mpg I got with my first tank before I started doing any work on it. I've been dd'ing this thing since I got it and I'm loving it!

Did ~1200mi road trip with my kiddos. All pavement but outside of a plugged charcoal canister it was smooth sailing. Slow and 10.5-11mpg but smooth.

Ironically it has the exact same fuel consumption loaded to the gills and a canoe as it does empty. 😂

Did you need wheel spacers on them 4runner/taco wheels to fit?

I'm not running spacers, but with 37s I do get some slight rubbing inside the rear wheel wells/frame when flexed hard and the front control arms at full lock.

With early flares they're pretty flush.

Ran Tail of the Dragon yesterday PhotoReflect.com | Powerhead Productions - killboy.com - Dragon Photos - Fri - July 04, 2025 -killboy.com - https://killboy.photoreflect.com/store/orderpage.aspx?pi=04RK04TJ061123&po=2263&pc=3196
Since the photog didn't catch the nano-moment with the inner tire lifted off the ground I'm going to pass on purchasing any photos.

We were in Smoky Mtn NP, drove around Cades Cave, took Parsons Branch Road, which was nothing more than a manicured gravel road, and popped out on Highway 129.

I recall leaving GSMTR in 2006 and going out tellico plains side and inadvertently running 129 back to robbinsville to the dismay of a few bikes n roadsters 😂

80 + armor + 37s = not quick

While others are modding up, I just finished out getting this rig to base spec! 😆 Only options remaining on it are the premium stereo and alarm system...

Did you buy 5 wheels to make it "correct"?

:grinpimp:

Saw you on 28 by Fontana Village 😄 couple good 80s at the NOC too! Running the tail with double barrel boats up top is a bold move.
