I rebuilt my distributor - included my info starting on post #13 in this thread:Do you mind on elaborating on rebuilding your distributor? Mine has been throwing a code 12 and makes a strange noise on occasion at start up. Thanks
Great write up. Thanks. I believe the issue with mine is the speed sensor that it looks like may have been the one you damaged. I don't suppose there was any part numbers on that sensor so that could be purchased seperately so I wouldn't have to buy a whole distributor for one failing component?I rebuilt my distributor - included my info starting on post #13 in this thread:

No, I don't think there was a separate part number for those.Great write up. Thanks. I believe the issue with mine is the speed sensor that it looks like may have been the one you damaged. I've seen them bolted to rigs ink ownarent going anywhere to get stuck.
Like the jeep Cherokee that always parks next to me. Winch. Roof rack. Factor55 stick that says "built to adventure". Stock street tires.
Disregard found a photo of a new Toyota one and it’s the same. Maybe a better design with flat sealing surface? What do the gurus think?Something looked weird! After almost installing The aisin timing cover I realized it’s missing the machining for the fipg on the new cover?? You can see on the old cover it has a grove on the perimeter for the fipg to sit. Not sure if this would be an issue?? Not gonna risk it because pulling the cover is a huge pain in the ass in the truck.

Do you use a gasket on the flat surfaces or a FIPG like product? seems odd the old one has groves like the upper and lower oil pans. But Toyota is always redesigning stuff. Usually flat machined surfaces have a gasket of some sort like the metal crush ones on all the block and head surfaces. Was just hoping someone has installed a new timing cover without the groves and used FIPG with no issues. @SNLC?Everything we seal on planes at work is a flat machined surface
and the carbon fiberWaited for 1.5 years to install the switch for my Blue Sea relay in the cab. Took maybe 1-2 hours and now I can control it manually if desired.

What gauge wire did you use? And how did you route it? Looks goodWaited for 1.5 years to install the switch for my Blue Sea relay in the cab. Took maybe 1-2 hours and now I can control it manually if desired.

Thanks man. Since it's for the coil side of the relay(doesn't carry a load for those that might not be aware) I went with 4/22 gauge for ease of routing. What gauge wire did you use? And how did you route it? Looks good
The previous owner installed it and it's something I never expected to like as much as I do.and the carbon fiber
The cover may not be sourced from Toyota but, it is a Toyota cover. See the circled area below, they ground out the Toyota name before selling.Something looked weird! I use 'em on occasion for croissant + latte runs.I can see them on occasion. I just laugh because usually when I see them they're on something that'll never need them
When I was in Oregon a rig was trying to use them to get out of the sand. I got tired of watching and winched them out.
