Spent the day in Cali from Mojave, Near Cima over to Calico. Turned in the new year at Calico with Family and friends. Great way to finish a 5 day trip off road. Starting at Trona, thru death valley into NV, and back into Cali.

AZ - Back Road to Crown King; Jim S. in his LX on 37s, Claudia in our LX on small-ish 315s, and myself trying to learn how to drive a '93, on the same small-ish 315s (Maxxis Bighorns). Haven't been up there in many years, and we happened to pick the perfect day in terms of weather - gorgeous - and in terms of traffic - negligible. Just one inconsiderate side-by-side, cutting off my way to make room for them and then stare at me... That was the moment I missed not having brought the K5 Blazer - the side-by-side folks usually take one look, and decide not to tangle with its bumper. I guess the Slee shortbus on the '80 just doesn't convey the same impression, despite being just as stout. Anyways:

Only 1 pic off the phone, didn't bring the DSLR; this is from the final climb, looking back on the valley below:

What I was after in this shot was this:

Looking south in that area, we always find it amazing how those mountain ranges stack up in the distance...
What day was this? Did you get a chance to wheel in all the now we got yesterday?

We went up to Crown King on Sunday, 12-30-2018. A little snow & ice up top.

Actually I don't have much of an inclination of going 'wheeling in the snow. Snow is for skiing...

This was my first time doing any real wheeling in the snow and i can definitely say I perfer wheeling when its dry! I took a left at bumble bee and did a few runs off maggie mine road and those tiny mountain roads are no fun when your sliding all over the place

Pulled a couple things apart... Two box’s headed out to Zuk for re-gear tomorrow.

Not really the weekend but I installed this yesterday. My mother in law got me a $75 dollar GC for Home Depot. I bought myself two large canvas tool bags and a smaller one. So I was finally able to clean up the area behind the 2nd row. Eventually, I want to build a drawer system in the rear to carry/hide all my gear from prying eyes.

Thanks have had it for long time
Just looks tough sitting there! I like it because you don’t have all kinds of sh*# hanging everywhere! (Like me... lol)

Well, picked up some half worn Iroks I bought, the fella had them for sale on a local buy and sell and dropped them at my brothers place. They have uneven wear, but there's 5 of them and they came with 17x10 superduty wheels and adapters for 8x165 hubs.

I'm gonna try my hand at widening stock steel wheels, with bead locks (have some friends with cool tools for welding them) so I've cut the outer lip, and tapped some bungs for drain valves used on air compressor tanks, and then burnt them on to the lips.

I'm slowly working on getting one tons under the truck, been working on cutting brackets a bit lately.

The drain valves will allow me to dump air easier and more quickly, but I can still connect a gauge to the tire valve while they're draining, instead of stopping to check. Or so is the plan anyways.
