Bought a little friend for the 80 yesterday. Will serve as my DD and family hauler. Notice which one still has dibs on the garage though. I feel like i'm morphing into @Aloha Jen . I just need a 60, boyfriend, and beach bod...one step at a time :rolleyes:View attachment 1723787

Having met you...the boyfriend will be the first you check off the list :hhmm:

You can one up @Aloha Jen by going straight to a 40! However the other areas you might need a whole lot of work.

Boyfriend!??! If I had a boyfriend it would probably make my husband pretty upset!

But I would definitely recommend getting the 60, even better if you can find one that’s got a fancy Diesel engine in it!!

He’d have to get 2 40’s or a 40 and something else to one up me!

Damn that those are all nice cruisers. You guys are truth to the cause! We had 7 80s at one time in my family.

Nice 40 Jen! Have you tried the spray paint removal yet? That blue is gonna be sweet! Might have to paint that window frame tho. Got almost all the spray paint off of my 55

Aaaaaand, on to 80 series tech. The turbo is on the back burner, supercharger is gone. Gotta be rolling for the Solid Axle Summit, so naturally aspirated we go! This weekend (hopefully) it comes back to life! I sure do miss my 80.

Is it a good thing or bad when your 3 year old want to play in the old landcruiser instead of the new swing set.... winning???

To preface the cruiser has been down for a few weeks doing head gasket. As soon as the hood is down she gets excited “dads hood is down does the land cruiser work again” that was a week ago. After 3 weeks down. Swing set is 2 weeks old...

Should have just bought another cruiser to put in the yard.

Thank you Aloha jen, got the part numbers for those toyota visors with no wings (from your post) for the overhead fuel gauge and altimeter. Showed up from Dubai in 10 days (faster than some state side shippers), also while looking for parts found toyota manual antenna, that collapses into fender.
I've bought 2 antennas in the last year 1 expensive, 1 cheapo both junk. Decided Mr. T probably could make one that works didn't want power 1 they just break. I can push it out of way when needed. I know what I'm doing this weekend. Stay tuned.....

Does this warrant a snorkel purchase?

Cleaning the carpets ... water ran off super muddy...hopefully I’ll get rid of the nasty foul stench from the cruiser. Halfway done:meh:

What additive for your rear main seal?

Pretty sure it was this one;

Bars Leak Rear Main Repair (16.9 oz.)

My local mechanic put it in after an oil change, trans flush, and diff flush. Said it was leaking about 2-3 drops per day. Truck was at the shop for about 7 days. Last day he added it in. a few days later when sitting at the house, there was 2 drops.

Drove it at least 300 miles in the last few weeks, and just checked. shes holding good.

My 7yo still races to climb in and start playing in my 80 whenever he gets the chance. The wife's minivan? Nahh.
