Finally got my 4x4labs sliders installed. The top bolt on the front passenger side remains a mystery. I think will have a nice weld there instead.

That was the last piece of planned worked that wanted to do before I start my 5000 mile road trip later this month.

Just need to work out a method to lift on my roof rack by myself...

Is it broken in yet?

Put on all new fresh door seals and also upgraded to an FZJ front swaybar that's 29mm od vs 24mm. Also got my fresh body mounts, motor mounts, hand throttle, and window felt runs View attachment 1715097

Had to build some fresh sway bar drops that slight off set towards the back since the bar is thicker.

As soon as my brother parks his cruiser for the day I am going to swap my gas pedal for his since he has the hand throttle mount and I don't. He won't ever realize that...

Just picked up my next build...... sold the 200 last week and wife has always wanted to have her own 80.....

found this in Baton Rouge - mall crawler with Lockers and new front seats ! ran 80 for 4 hours home flawlessly. Now to baseline and .....View attachment 1715091 View attachment 1715092

Very stoked to be starting a "mild" build on her next week.....

so good to be back in an 80 ! I loved the 100 and the 200 was a true beast but there's something about the feel of the 80...

E, welcome back to the 80 series! Can't wait to watch this one be built!

Holy massive solar panel! I had a 65w Siemens solar panel. I felt like I wasn’t getting adequate output. So I decided to order a new Renogy panel. Was going to get the 100w but was able to pick up a 160w for only $30 more so I said fawk it and bought the 160. Well, needless to say, it’s pretty massive. But I was committed so...

My old panel was installed underneath my roof rack. While that made for a convenient location @Cruiserdrew edumacated me on the fact that it probably wasn’t working at all because the crossbars were blocking part of the panel and solar is finicky and some other technical stuff. So I mounted this one on top.

I also took the opportunity to replace the waiting from the panel to the controller using MC4 connections. And chased an electrical issue with my spotlights that was only turning on 1-2 of the 4. (It was a bad ground)

A 1-2 hour project turned in to 7-8 hours. As per usual.

Very nice! Only reason I didn’t go that route is it makes a good area of roof rack useless. Also if mounted flat you will never get the 160w output unless you park it midday on the equator. If you look on amazon there are flexible 160 panel that are only 3lbs. My plan is to store it on the overhead storage and put it on the windshield facing the sun when I need it.

Another idea I have if the other way doesn’t work is to mount it under the rack but slide it out over the windshield. Just ideas right now as I’m not even done with dual batteries yet.

Do the Kings come up this time of year in the Sierras? I was always used to foraging for them in the early winter along the coastal mountains.

Yeah, I am going to get the tilt up bracket to tilt it up to maximize efficiency.

I looked at the flexible panels. Wanted to get one to put on the hood. Changed my mind at the last second.

Where'd you get the window felts? I need to replace mine.
