Tried to think positive and think I could just replace the bearing in my AC compressor but NOPE! the clutch part wiring is all messed up. Do people usually just repair the existing compressor (it was working fine until the bearing seized) or just find a whole new unit? Thanks!
OH and then while driving back I see I have NO OIL PRESSURE...pulled over and noticed the sending unit wire was off...whew!!

Wanting to lose the Black Rocks and get back to stock wheels. Sadly my stock wheels are chromed and pitting and peeling. Thinking to dechrome them and paint them, so thought I would test paint my non-chrome spare rim first. First in duplicolor graphite wheel paint for windows and then in silver.

Not perfect but good enough, so off to dechroming the other 4 will go.

It would be interesting to see a pic of the wheels after de-chroming if you can find someone that will actually do it.
Cost wise, it may be less expensive top buy a used set of plain wheels and blast and paint them rather than de-chroming.

EPA ran most of the chrome shops OOB, but there is one here in Phx that does de-chroming for $65 a wheel. Yes expensive, but hey, it's a Land Cruiser, what isn't?
Cheapest used OEM wheels I can find around here are more than $65 a wheel and typically they are abused.I will post up pics after they are dechromed.
Curious to see how this works out. I have the LX chrome and managed to chip 2 of them now, 1 in 3 places. I'd be all for getting rid of the Chrome. Installed an Alpine iLX-107 with back up camera- wireless car play. Replaced the hvac control unit, instrument cluster lens and all burned out bulbs! Big job for me! Could not have done it without this site!

Bought a few things over the past couple weeks...
I finally removed the old Viper security system from underneath the dash. What a rats nest. It had been making me nervous since I purchased the 80, and I'm happy to finally see it go.....there had to have been at least 10lbs of crap between the wiring harnesses, relays, computers, and that stupid horn. Happy to see it go.
And I finally replaced my broken passenger side view mirror! Thanks Ebay!!

Installed the Escape Gear 80 series seat covers and dash pad. Spendy, but absolutely outstanding quality I am truly impressed. Very comfortable too.
Equipt was also wonderful to work with, its a long process for shipping as they are made in Cape Town and they were very communicative. The covers/dash pad also had a price reduction just after I ordered and Equipt refunded me the difference without me even asking...highly recommend them!
Also, these came in! OPOR sliders. Heavy as hell, anyone want to come over for install help
