RATTLE CAN IT! Powder is durable but a rattle can job can be touched up. I rattle canned my 4x4 labs bumper in matte black and it looks great. I've already had to touch up some scraps and redo the strut mounts.

Use a self etching primer and buy a 12pk of Rustoleum from Home Depot.

BTW, I built my jerry can upper hoop too tight. I had to cut it out and put a new hoop in. After welding was done, prime and paint and I'm finished.

I need to do brakes all around, and install new springs... Who wants to come over and knock this thing out.......
Post your location and post in a local clubhouse. You’ll find a crew to assist.

My son (with me helping) fabricated and installed a heat shield for the intake tube and A/C line in my 80. I don't know if it will do any good or not but it does help hide my O2 sensors which I relocated to the pulsed air injection ports. I am hoping that it will help keep my intake tube in better shape. As you can see from this pictures it's shot and a replacement is on the way.

Looks good...and I don't see why it wouldn't work to keep the heat away....now time to work on that intake boot! haha

That does look nice! I'd be weary about that extra mount you have that is held on with the 4 rivets. With one side of the shield mounted solid to the engine, and the other side on the frame, something is going to give when the engine moves in relation to the frame. I foresee that small bracket cracking and breaking. Is there a way to tie the shield back in to one of the bolts that hold the OEM heat shields on instead?

Good point. I will keep an eye on it and report back. I did not think to look at the mounting points for the stock heat shield. Next time I have the intake out I will take a better look.

Was bored, washed the engine bay....

One of the rear OME shock had some indication of starting to leak. Inspection/testing revealed over time the gas has leaked out on both making them weak along with loss of dampening. Do for replacement anyway glad the leak showed up.

Hopefully an increase in MPG. I know you are thinking WTF increase in MPG. Other here have claim MPG increase with less:flipoff2:
