Do you have a a write up on this? I'm planning on pulling the trigger on this soon and would love some heads up info.

I don’t have a write up. I just used a 1/4” rivet with a stainless 1” washer inside the cab and a 1” nylon washer on the roof side of the rivet. I also used some marine sealant for good measure.

at a stand still with this project. Apparently 4x4 labs doesn't check their kits before shipping them out. tried to start on my swing outs but the kit didn't come with the bearing races or the sleeves. So at this point I am missing the races, sleeves, tube top caps and rear recovery points. I cant move forward on the project without those items. I'm very disappointed with this kit at this point. at this rate I am sure that more items will be missing as i move on to the tire carrier, jerry can holder and front bumper. For as much money as you pay for these kits you would expect everything to be present. Especially since they are almost impossible to get a hold of. And considering that it takes months to get your order they should have plenty of time to check that all parts are present.
ouch that sucks, BUT on a good note, Ive got them front and rear, the front is lacking as it has no hi lift points, but the back dual swingout is bombproof, carrying 37 in notto and 3 jeeries no probs with weight etc, and its been to MOAB ouray, uwharrie and the northeast.

What steering stab. is that?

Agreed. Pretty unsettling.
its a toughdog return to center coil over made for 35 and over tyres works realy well.

I'm sure luke will get it out quick and i can have it all welded and ready for powder coat next weekend

Thx for the info brother! I hate reinventing the wheel. Btw, Sweet 80! The new front runner looks great!

I had a tree fall on my Cruiser, does that count? Weekends prior I did new wiper blades, hood and hatch struts and washer diverter valve...far less exciting.

Went for another drive in the same area as Thursday before work. It required a little more attention driving, as well as chains in one section. Steep drop off one side, huge rut that would swallow up and high center the Land Cruiser on the other. There was six-eight inches on the road at 5500’. And it was blowing pretty good. Even with the tires aired down to 15 lbs using the arb deflator, I was slipping everywhere. The actual pictures I got of the land cruiser was at about 2500-3000’ elevation. Still waiting for my Slee Shortbus on freight.

Just a suggestion, BFG KM2's (255/85r16s) might be considered for those conditions...I've had some scary weather in northern AZ and CO and the skinnies kept me from sliding. I also never aired them down during heavy sleet or snow conditions. By heavy I mean 10' visibility. The physics: weight of the vehicle + smaller footprint (width wise) = more pounds per square inch on surface = less slipping. I wouldn't run that tire on a lighter vehicle, fyi.

Driving for 2 hours with a 5,000’ elevation gain this past summer during 116’ heat caused AC to shut off momentarily—long enough for the wife to give me the “look”.

Put a fan on the AC last week. This fan wouldn’t fit initially, lucky that @inkpot and @Tools R Us are local. I believe the AC will turn off after the temp hits 226’?

I knew tall skinnies would be better, I do not mind chaining. I do want a more aggressive tread again but have to wait. Too many wants before I do tires.

Did a valve cover gasket and rear axle seal on a friend's truck. I've never seen a blown rear axle seal on an 80 before ... Valve train was nice and clean. Truck has 250k and drives great.

Huge weekend for me. (Sorry lots of pics...)

1. Finished my sliders:

2. Finished my skid plates

3. Attended Exploring NH Fall Crawl and beat them up.

My stock front bumper didn't fair too well:

But it was all worth it. Awesome weekend:

Did some testing on my latest power set up

Ran my CampTeq heater all night long (~35° very cool for a AZ boy) along with my fridge and charging a couple accessories and woke to 12.45volt = No problems going forward.

Ran 100+ miles of slit like dirt only to find out my Gullwing Flip up windows offer superior dust control over my doors.
