Installed yet another set of front springs. This time they are the Dobinsons 4" flexy progressive springs (painted silver then black). Slee 4" spring next to them.

This weekend I replaced all of my radiator and coolant hoses. Bypassed the rear heater because the line was clogged. I used the silicone hoses from Amazon. Pesky hose wasn't happening. Bypassed it too. Way easier.

Kids said "let's go exploring in the Landcruiser". 15 minutes later we are packed with food, water, towels, and the dog. Didn't need to go far to enjoy the afternoon. One of the kids said, "It's not what we're doing, it's that we are doing it". Quote of the day for me.

KFC for lunch up the mountain.

Kids and dog came home exhausted. Mission accomplished.

This and that.... thought I would include he oil analysis here. In 2015 the PO was losing coolant and the HG was the culprit at 265k. Well, the dealership was a hack shop and didn't change the oil when the job was done. I changed the oil when I bought it and ran it 4500 miles. The report came back terrible . Coolant in the oil and 5 times normal wear. 1100 miles late I sent another sample and this is the report. I will send another sample in 1,000 miles. I'm losing no coolant and she runs like a top. I need to know for sure because I'm taking this beast on a 3500 mile road trip next month.

Well, I tackled the power windows yet again after the SwitchDoctor switch failed after one day. Driver's window at least had the dignity to fail in the UP position.

Prelude:
-Our protagonist spent a few sweaty hours replacing switch, motor, regulator, and window run. Window worked for one whole day.

Act 1:
-Switch sold as SwitchDoctor switch on Amazon (but fulfilled by another vendor) fails
-SwitchDoctor refuses to warranty the switch, claiming it wasn't their switch
-Actual vendor demands photos of switch despite a copy of the invoice presented to them in an email. I'm not going through this I have decided I am not wasting my time over $25 lost. F-U SwitchDoctor. You've made an enemy over a $25 fake-of-a-fake despite invoices and screenshots.

Act 2:
-Research shows that 89 to 94 Camry uses the exact same switch. Email to Beno confirms this.
-My local Pick-N-Pull's website shows five Camrys of that vintage in stock
-Drive 25 miles to the P-n-P
-Handy printout gives me the row where the cars are located. One has U-crank-Em windows. One is missing entire driver's door. I pull the remaining three switches in less than five minutes, no tools required.
-Purchased all three for $38 because I don't feel like driving back to the junkyard if they fail.
-All three work! Driver's window goes up and down!
-Three screws to change the trim bezel and some serious rubdown with the Chorox wipes to remove the biohazard scum.

Act 3:
-Have beers with an Army buddy in airconditioned comfort instead of sweating profusely on the driveway continuing diagnosis.

While adding grease to the birfs I noticed my steering stops could be adjusted in. I just gained some turning radius! Also changed the speedo o-ring and hooked up the blinkers in the ARB front.

Beat me to the passenger side grab bar. On the extreme short list at the wife's request.

Just got back from a weekend at the snow. The 80 did its job as usual. Wasnt as good on fuel as usual and seems to be blowing a bit of black smoke on accelration. about 800km on both tanks she did. She will happily sit on 110km on cruise the whole time, even u p hill hardly having to down shift. I love driving this thing!

Even ignoring the fact that it is the beautiful @Aloha Jen swimming around in a bikini, those pictures are very nice. It must be cool to swim around with the turtles and the water there is sooo clear.

Didn't do anything to my 80 yet this weekend, but my former 80 got a ton of work this weekend. It now belongs to my sister @prodedvm and we gave it my Prinsu roof rack and my sliders (after some mods and new powder coating). We did a few other things like pull the hitch, and the spare tire to refinish and tuck up higher. Had a great time and lots of step #6!
