What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (50 Viewers)

If you want to go very inexpensive, go for Reflectix. Available at most hardware stores and has made a huge difference in our diesel 60. Before it and the carpet insulation it was very hot and loud. It used to put out a tremendous amount of heat over the transmission hump, but now is cool as a cucumber. Also, it is easily removable, but stays put under the carpet.

Very good idea. So is that reflectix the "foil/bubble/foil" stuff? I hope so, because I have a ton of it left over from radiant heat projects on my house.

Also, what is the blue material? Thanks!

Finally got to take the cruiser camping, it was a blast! We only did one night because we weren't sure how the little ones would do. They did great and the teenager bailed, go figure lol. We found some black Raspberry and mulberry growing wild and my daughter loved them :). It was only a 20ish mile drive but I'm pretty happy with how the weatherproof storage bag and Prinsu rack worked out, I figured it would be pretty noisy, but I didn't notice it there at all. I think we're ready for the Colorado trip next weekend!

I ran a 5,000 mile trip running a Thule roof bag when I bought my Prinsu. We never heard the back until one of the strap ends came untied and started flapping. Love that rack and dig the floating washer drum fire pit!

Since the PS seat is out I'm finally replacing the seat gears. The Mrs is my usual copilot and she's a midget so it hasn't been a problem.

I've had the parts from Gramaviti since 2013.

I'm using the hot water trick. Worked great on the first one. The second wants to go in at a slight angel.

OK OK, I played with the photo editing on my phone to show it better, or maybe I just added a stand to it. You be the judge.

That's pretty slick. I have 2 of those drums and I've been kicking around a stand that I can stash inside when I'm transporting it. The 3-4 leg solution was all I've seen but I like that. Can you post up or PM me a few pics of how you mounted that? Is it an umbrella foot or a large dryer pulley?

I'm not really sure since it's not mine, but I'll find out from the inlaws. They live near an Electrolux manufacturing plant (when it was open) so it's probably all spare parts from the w/d line.

Cool, thanks! BTW, how do those flush mount LEDs work in your bumper? Any issues with the angle? I have a single cube above the passenger tail light but it's not enough with the window tint.

They're ridiculously bright. I was hoping for more of a flood type of light, but it throws light about as far as my 42" led up front, just not as wide. Either way, they definitely do the job. It just seems like a waste to have so much illumination so far out for backing up unless I decide to go 30mph in reverse lol

Got this arm rest from amazon had to trim the bottom a bit but if you lower the stock cup holder that would work too

I may buy one because that looks easy to install and will help keep my back from hurting leaning to the inside while I do the 'hood lean....

Should be good.

I doubled up with the Reflectix on the firewall and tranny hump. Reflectix gets its insulating value from the air bubbles between the reflective exterior. They are like bubble wrap and can pop, you'd lose any R value. So I just used it where there wouldn't be traffic.

Thermozite doesn't have bubbles so can't be crushed, it's great for the floor. Reflective is good for the doors and side panels where there isn't any pressure.

My tranny tunnel and console stay cool as cucumber no matter what's the temp outside and how long I have been driving. Before thermozite the floor and console gets really hot.

If one day I have time I'll put some reflective on my doors and side panels.

New tires...

Unfortunately, I think half of the balancing weights flew off as I was getting up to speed on the freeway. Sorry to those of you who were behind me at the time.

Did the shop know these are Toyota Rims? They are known to require specific wheel weights........

Well crapola, it looks like the PS slide motor is toast or bound up. With no load it runs for a second, slows then stops. Took the non motor side off and no change. Unless Rock Auto has one at a ridiculously low price I'll just manually adjust the seat most of the way back. I'm on the hunt for manual seats anyway.

New radiator from Mr. T.

IMG_0047.JPG

The older one lasted 24yrs. No leaks, just dirty but can be used a spare...
IMG_0055.JPG

Then I picked up my spare 35s... don't need them, my current ones are only two yrs old, but I can't say no to $700 closing sale on a local tire shop!

Then I helped my uncle install his new to him ARB bumper. He made a tube bumper for last years Rubithon and made it just enough to make it through ... lol. A hill billy bumper.

That's a nice tank install, I did have to re-read that "1/2 plate" part again. DANG! Can't beat free though. :P

That was the mounting plate my uncle used for his 8274 on his tube bumper, didn't have a use for it after his arb install...

I stole the idea from @NLXTACY on the mounting, but not as fancy as his. This is more of a tight budget build.

Hey, free is free!
