And the truck decides to celebrate by warning me about everything all at once. Pulling a 700kg trailer, but holding steady at around 110kph, egt@800-900f, trans@160f, everything looks great. Trailer was hooked up to 7 pin so i would have been charging up the battery after using it all weekend so alternator maybe? Bad ground? Water in the works (ton of rain all weekend)? Pulled the trailer 12v fuse just in case, and noticed that turn signals cause the voltage to drop temporarily. Good thing the diesel doesn't need spark so the other 150km home went without issue.

Finished the interior portion of the hybrid cage. Twenty joints on the exo portion need final welding, then it's ready for paint and to put a headliner back in.

I did some good wheelin on Bald Mtn with @Shoredreamer & two of his friends Joe & Dan... I don't known their avatar name... & then came across @mjeckell also. It was a great day.

Was able to get away from work for most of the day. Loaded up the canoe and hit up a new double secret honey hole. Had to carry the canoe about 1.5 miles each way but it was worth it!

Used pool noodles for the cross bars on the rack. Not the fanciest but they worked.

Also scored my record high score on my Koso temp gauge. 203. Outside air temp was 97. Last summer it never got above 193. Time to start obsessing...

Wheeling on Beasley knob in north Georgia today and a plastic elbow broke on the heater hose the top end of the pesky heater hose. I used the elbow because I didn't have a replacement shaped hose to use way back when I did the head gasket. Factory hose has that bend formed into it. Anyway had to do some problem solving. I used 2 deep well sockets because the only hose I had extra in the truck was 7/16 size and the heater valve to top of phh metal pipe it's closer to 5/8 so using the sockets I was able to connect all thIs stuff together and finished the trip wheeling . It worked great

Pressure cleaned carpets, hand washed interior parts and started installing FatMat... Hopefully I'll have a quieter and cooler interior....

Package was a bit mangled, but inside was 2 big vacuum sealed bags filled with brand new soft sexy leather!

Started on project Swaybar Overkill. Very early test fitting. Still have a lot of work to do. Panhard bracket interfered with the arm's travel. Rather than cut and clearance the stock bracket I cut it off. Will be replacing it with an aftermarket inside-frame panhard bracket.

Estimated ride height:

Mounts slightly behind the axle using 1.5" shock brackets.

Fixed power seat slide function. So lucky all I needed to replace were the missing caps (from Gamivit). Had purchased gears as well so a potential time consuming project took less than 10 minutes.

Oh tell me about it I didn't use mr t hose either. Let the flame on begin. But seriously I was in a pickle and had to think around for a solution, didn't want the jeep guys help lol. Best of all it was a teaching lesson to my son in how to think for yourself and learn how to do stuff with minimal tools and resources

Finally fixed the rear DS window. Had to glue the window in the slot with the rubber spacer because it kept popping out. A lot easier than I thought it would be, only took about 20 minutes longer than taking the door skins off.

If you want to reduce heat, make sure to replace the firewall seal where your steering shaft goes through. The shaft is offset and wears the seals out which acts like a hair dryer blowing on your legs all summer. Takes about $20 and 20 min. to fix. Now would be a great time with the seat and carpet out. A lot less Cirque de Soleis that way.

Put on ARB front bumper and went on a trail ride to put more brush scratches (we call it Idaho pinstripes) on the new paint job.

Also started working on front axle rebuild and brake job.

This was supposed to be my sons car when he gets his license but seeing all the awesome builds on this forum has me deeply invested on projects to a least attempt to replicate some of the nice FZJ80's out there. The wife doesn't know it yet but I'm thinking making this mine and my son will be getting a different car.
