Misfire Begone!!!!!

I guess the #4 injector housing was broken and very loose. Enough of a connection to give me false positives on the wiring. The engine torque from doing some of the EGR tests must of completely disconnected it. Since I'll be going in there again to replace it, I'll just do the other three. I replaced two during the initial install.

Next is a belated smog test and registration. A thorough defunking and cleaning after that. Then onto the next list. Window runs and weatherstripping all around. Install the reevesci tail gate lid. Then onto the interior.

Installed one of Luke's bumpers, had to be the easiest armor install ever took literally 15 minutes.

In other news I buttoned up my new stereo, front and rear park assist cameras and speakers, and now my 80 won't start. We've been getting mad rain and it's been sitting for a week or so but it's the first time it hasn't started. Going through the FAQ emergency start troubleshoot procedure now.. love the help this community has been!

You probably blew a fuse along the way. Check fusible links first.

Local weather called for 1-4" of snow. We got 12-14" of snow all around the area. Trees and power lines down blocking major roads along with unprepared cars blocking highways and on/off ramps. Several of us from our local ham club organized with the local senior center to help deliver meals to the elderly. In the process we ended up clearing many blocked roads in the area. Besides carrying chains I carry a chain saw.

Worked on my brother's old 96 FJ80. The truck has been sitting a while since the damage was done, so I dropped by and got to work on it. I had to replaced the core support and drivers side inner fender. Now it all lines up nicely.

Started like this
Here is the inner fender replaced

And left it like his today

Just need to tidy up and put a good radiator in now since the old one cracked. Gotta get a better bumper too. It was nice to get his kids away from the tv long enough to help me work on the truck a bit.

This is my first post here on Mud btw.

I'm thinking about pulling my fender off to do some door jamb wiring, how hard is it to pull the fender? It looks like the undercoating goop and the seal/bolts in that are would be the toughest obstacle.

Took the ham radio test, Saturday, and installed my radio Sunday. Got my call sign today KM6HKJ

I use one of those binocular retractors from Cabelas that folks use for hunting which I clip my HAM mic to the retracting end (keychain) then clip the 6" lanyard from my Baofeng radio to the base of the retractor (the part that clips on your pants) and loop it around my rear view mirror. Doesn't hit anything swinging around offroad either.

The Cruiser passed its smog test and is now registered. :bounce: The idle is a bit higher. A needle width or so below 800 whereas it was closer to 650 before. I'll check the accelerator, throttle and cruise cables. I wasn't super precise putting them back on. Other than that I could balance a nickel on the valve cover. :bounce2:

I still have a power steering leak. The low pressure lines are not the only leak. :crybaby: I have a line on a local pump I can swap in. I'm not excited that it maybe the high pressure lines too. I really need to clean that area up first though. It is still a mess.

I also discovered some violent shaking while braking. It is rip-the-steering-wheel-from-your-hands sort of wobble at speeds over 50 mph. Only seems to happen when braking. I'll check the usual suspects, but I'm thinking I may have some flat spots on the tires with it sitting for a year or grungy discs. There seems to be some increased tire noise and the discs did have some surface rust on them. I assume a little driving and that would have cleaned them up.

Nothing new......more of the same old beach, cruiser, poser shots......

It was easy enough, just unbolt the bolts by the hood, two underneath by the back of the tire, one on top when you open the door. Pretty straight forward really. There was one behind the blinker too I think. Dont remember exactly since it was all torn apart and broken lol. The inner fender had seam sealer holding the fender on too under the flare.

Sweet, thanks for the fender info.

When I get home next week I have a new (to me) Drivers side fender to put on. And hopefully I get to drive around in it for a bit and see what else needs attention sooner than later.

My Buddy picked it up for me on his way to California from Texas.
