Drove the truck to town multiple times amid the heavy rains here in the Santa Cruz mountains. Tried to hit every puddle to wash the bottom of the truck. :hillbilly:...amazing what a weekend storm with eight inches of water does after three weeks of rain. Plenty of mud and rock slides to dodge.

On the positive side, Lexington Reservoir looks to be ready to overflow, as it has risen more than ten feet since Saturday...hasn't been this high in at least six years.

That's great news to hear the reservoirs are filling up. Wish this was making news in the mainstream cycle as well.

Upgraded my battery and cable situation. Group 27 AGM battery (185 minute reserve), and 1 gauge cable with compression lugs.

All buttoned up. I decided not to use the military terminals, since this battery has a through hole in it's posts.

I need to get some terminals for the body ground. What is pictured is only temporary. Also, not pictured, I pulled the old positive cable out of it's original loom, and reused it on the new cable.

These lugs are great, where did you get them from ? Thanks

I've been getting really burnt out on vacuuming my pups fur out of the truck and since I'm far too cheap to buy an actual cargo liner/floor mat I came up with this solution. I grabbed some foam puzzle mat from Walmart for $15 and made a little cargo mat that extends from the second row floor board back to the rear hatch. I used a heat gun to help form the padding over the curve down onto the floor board. For 15 bucks and couple hours of trimming I'm really pleased with this solution even if it is a little :hillbilly:!

And of course the inspiration for this whole project...

Either you've got tiny hands or that axle shaft seems huge.
It's my mate packing the grease, and yeah, he's a sparky, so small hands come free with that trade ;)

This just happened. 23k in the past 9 months since I got her. I've already gotten my money's worth. Playing with house money!

Technically it's more than 333k with the bigger tires...

Drove to LA to drop daughter off at college and then back and saw this:

Ouch, Sorry for that one. Any idea what caused it? Not sure I've seen one go like that before.

BTW - stay dry, I'm in the sac area and we're getting completely flooded out. It's been a drought for so long I have kids that have literally never seen this much water in their lives....
