Another Anza Borrego run. The desert was perfect on Saturday, cool temperatures.

This is on Canyon Sin Nombre road. Started on the S2 at Canyon Sin Nombre then up Arroyo Seco to Diablo Dropoff. From there into fish creek wash and back out through split mountain to highway 78. It's a really nice through drive with almost no challenging sections at all. Diablo Dropoff has been really graded/improved an you could literally drive a civic down it now. Hard to say how long that will last. In fish creek wash, the sandstone canyon offshoot still has a large boulder blocking the way a mile or so in, but people have been working on getting over it. I think I could probably have done it, but didn't want to try it since I was out solo with no one to pull me back out if I got into trouble.

Did you gain much headroom or legroom with them?

No more headroom because I not tall and I use the hight electric setup but yes more legroom if you are tall (but your rear passenger won't be happy).

Those Recaros look nice in there!

Yes I love them. I had the same in my previous KZJ70 and I missed them since I have sold it.

Those Recaros seem really tall. Or is an illusion?

They are taller than OEM seats but the included the head support.

Are they comfortable? I ordered mine but having second thoughts!

I have the chance to work for a Recaro dealer (among other things) so I tryed every one and for my "bodyshape" they are perfect.

To instal it I use this support
TOYOTA SERIE 8 (HDJ80, HZJ80, FZJ80, ...) - Créateur, fabriquant d'accessoires et équipements 4x4 - N4 Offroad - protection et blindage - prefiltre gazole - sangle 4x4

Yeah, uhh I don't see any beer in your pictures so I predict something wrong is going to happen.

Just look back one page to see how wrong things can be.

20 plate heat exchanger, shurflo pump and thermostatic mixing valve (not pictured) installed for onboard hot shower...

What did you cut those with? Put some black Rtv on the edge to hide those cuts and would look much better.
And put a black bolt too.

Box cutters and a steak knife.

A torch would have been preferred, but I don't have one. Molding around the bumper with some soft rubber would be better, but hey, I am satisfied.

you have the balls to put a mudflap on but can't do a snorkel? what are people going to think of us Angelenos

No holes were made in the process. No metal was hurt during the installation.
I fear the great flood, so I need mud flaps. I don't like rust, so I have to protect the body somehow.
What is I become insane at one point in my life and drive to Iowa?

Changed the oil and filter. Went for a slightly heavier grade of oil to see if it will take the speed off a very minor oil leak which I am not motivated to fix permanently at the moment.

New oem air intake hose to replace the cracked one!

Then on to Carrizo Plain - a little shy of 100 miles north west of LA - found an awesome camp spot with a killer view - didn't come across a soul while there - this place is hidden in plain sight - well worth the short escape!

I run a Detroit in the rear. I was surprised how well it behaves on the street.

The front is a Spartan. It hasn't let me down yet. If it does fail, I will go to a selectable locker.
Which model Spartan do you have in the front?
