The Yeti's have come a long way and now they are one of the best line up when comes to carbon MTB. In fact the SB95c is the only bike that have tempted me to get a new bike since 2012.

Yeah they are amazing...and pricey. I have a SB66 on the way and can't wait to build it up. I haven't ridden the SB95, but I did ride the SB4.5c yesterday. I can't believe the rear only had about 115mm of rear travel because it felt so controlled and unstoppable off large drops.

I live in Amarillo, which is about 20 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon. Pretty cool place.

Yeah it is! Just crazy it's even out there considering how flat everything is around it. Too bad it's not national forest land or something where it's free to use and camp.

Yup! It's all about geometry and travel quality and not quantity. I've ridden 4 inch bikes that are far more capable and confident then well known brand 6 inch bikes.

I'm on a full carbon 5 inch 29er(sworks stumpy) and besides the SB95c I really have no desire to get another bike. For reference I used to have 5 bikes and change one or two of them at least once a year.

I rode up to N. Georgia to play in the snow....

Dug out, shoveled more snow in the last 48 hours than I have in my last 48 years

Call me sick but I miss shoveling snow, living in Florida now.
You're a sick puppy, moved up here from Sarasota in 08 for a job, this leaves me wishing I had never left!

That is what is funny, the snow is one of the reasons I moved from Ohio but now I kind of miss it.

Yeah it's amazing. I have a 110mm spark and it blows through travel so quickly. These bikes even left my friend's Santa Cruz Blur LTC feeling pathetic.

Tried to install a new oil pressure sending unit. However, I had someone else check the oil pressure because I don't have a gauge. My mistake, because now I'm pretty sure they used NPT instead of BSPT:bang:. That resulted in my breaking off the sending unit while trying to get it to quit leaking. Several hours later I have come to the conclusion that tomorrow I need to get a BSPT clean out to finish the job and put everything back together:(.

Amazing how much more lift you get when you unbolt a few hundred pounds of steel and gear.

Line-x looks great

Tampacruise I believe they are rhino rack crossbars

Thanks...minimal, I like it

How to get absolutely nothing done in 61 easy steps.
Or.
How my Saturday went.

  1. Buy ARB lockers and have them installed. (Ok this is not a bad thing, pretty cool actually)
  2. Buy 2 gallons of 80W-90 gear oil in anticipation of the oil change after the break in period.
  3. Lose the receipt
  4. Drive a total of 1,500 miles
  5. 10:00 AM: Park the LC in the garage and prepare for the oil change
  6. I do not drink, so step 6 was skipped
  7. Realize your waste oil container is full and needs be emptied before the diffs can be drained
  8. Swear
  9. Pack up the container in the other car
  10. Remember that your kerosene container is empty and it might be nice to have some heat
  11. Pick up the container and see that the cap/nozzle is broken and would spill everywhere if used
  12. Swear and make a mental note to go to Tractor Supply Co and get a new nozzle
  13. Take the used oil to the collection center
  14. Get chewed out by the operator for not stopping at the empty operator shack so I could wait for him to tell me how to get to where I already knew where to go
  15. Dump the oil and head to Tractor Supply Co for the new nozzle
  16. Find they do not have one your picky ass likes
  17. Go to two more stores and finally buy one at the hardware store
  18. Head home
  19. Find the oil you bought just for this occasion
  20. Think to yourself “I better check the ARB Manual to see if they have any special requirements”
  21. See that ARB recommends a synthetic blend
  22. Swear because that is not what you bought
  23. Put the two gallons of oil in the car
  24. Put the kerosene container in the car thinking “At least I can get the kerosene now”
  25. Head to the kerosene supplier first because they close early on Saturday
  26. Arrive at the kerosene supplier and see the gates are closed. See that they changed their hours.
  27. Swear
  28. Take your son to Taco Bell for lunch because he is hungry and you have been running around all morning
  29. Head to the autoparts store
  30. Try to return the gear oil without a receipt
  31. Be happy they will exchange it for the synthetic
  32. Find they do not have the correct weight as recommended by ARB
  33. Ask if they will refund your money without a receipt
  34. Answer the question “What is this going in” from the clerk by saying “A 97 Land Cruiser”
  35. Answer the question “What is that? A Toyota or something” with “Yes a Toyota”
  36. Have the clerk argue with you that the original oil purchased is the correct oil according to his computer
  37. Argue that the vehicle is no longer stock as the differentials have been changed out for aftermarket lockers

  38. Have the clerk argue that his computer says a 97 landcruiser with lockers still takes the same oil
  39. Argue with the clerk again that they are no longer stock differentials
  40. Have the clerk tell you he hates when people mess with their differentials. ?????
  41. Finally the clerk hands you less money than you paid because he does not know if you bought it on sale.
  42. Swear and be happy you are leaving with something
  43. Go to several other stores looking for the recommended oil
  44. Do not find it
  45. Decide to call ARB to see what else they recommend
  46. “You have reached ARB during our non-business hours……………”
  47. Swear
  48. Give up on the oils change for today and decide to replace the antenna mast. That will be an easy 5 minute job and make you feel better
  49. Remove the nut on the top of the antenna and have your son hit the “up” button
  50. Get the antenna all the way to the top and find that it will not come out all the way
  51. Have your son work the antenna button up and down several times hoping it will work the cable loose
  52. Swear and think “No big deal I will just take the whole unit out, disassemble it and remove the old antenna
  53. Remove the other bolt holding it in place and try to work the antenna out of the hole
  54. Realize the antenna cable is too short to allow the unit to angle properly to come out.
  55. Try to reassemble the unit back in place
  56. Drop the bolt and have it disappear
  57. Crawl around under the truck for 15 minutes only to find it inside the the slider
  58. Try to reassemble the unit back in place, Success!!!!!!!
  59. Clean, lube and straighten the antenna as best you can and call it good.
  60. 6:00 PM Call it a day and thank your son for hanging out with you.
  61. Post a ridiculously long list on IH8MUD
I bought my 80 with the ARB's already installed. It never occurred to me that ARB might call out synthetic oil. Mine work just fine with StaLube dinasour 90w.
