Check out the factory Scion radios. There are several threads on here about those stereos and which attributes they have. Also they are plug and play with just a very minimal trimming of the stereo surround.

There it is all finished up.

The previous owner ran pm1 battery with out tie downs and ran an extension with a bolt for the positive. Last off road trip my negative cable got disconnected on a pretty steep hill climb. The battery box was cracked and just not usable. I bought a newsed one from a mud member. Extended the positive and negative cables. Got the proper tie downs from @beno. Nice thing about this battery it also has front posts for my winch and couple other accessories.

Just got off the phone with Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters aka @cruiseroutfit. Ordered up a new knuckle rebuild kit and wheel bearings. Peace of cake to deal with. Looks like my 80 will be getting some love this coming weekend.

Installed my Christmas present (from myself).


It was a Craigslist find. Never heard of Air Zenith before, didn't see any reviews here, but decided to take a gamble. It's pretty baddass, it takes my 295's from 25 to 40psi in 1:45.
Specs here: 2nd Generation 200PSI OB2 Compressor
I don't know why they're not marketed to the 4WD crowd?

Also added a 4-awg circuit for the compressor, but was running out of room so I added the military battery terminal.
Swapped the 3/8" bolt to an 8mm for compatibility with the existing cable lugs.

The guy I bought it from was a street-racer/hipster kid and uses these for air suspension. We had a good talk, enlightening each other about our respective hobbies.

Replaced the universal joints on the front driveshaft. Had been driving a few weeks with the center diff locked. Gas mileage did not change. Went fairly smoothly once I came up with a plan for removing the old busted u-joint cups.
