Pictures stolen from my good friend Carl because, well, it's hard to take pictures of your own rig from the outside while you're driving it.:)

BTW, 37's+lockers+fresh snow = super awesome!

Went wheeling with my father and some others in Arizona. Columbia town site north of Lake Pleasant. Was going to be an easy day until we decided to try the "up and over" route from there to Tip Top mine. None of us had done it before, but had heard about it. Well, it was a fun day and we made it back to pavement before dark.

Also made some changes to the vehicle.
First was a quick and easy battery disconnect. Two metal pieces, a Teflon space, and a larger blot that passes through them. Unscrew the knob and the circuit is open. You can also see the home made battery hold down bracket.
Next is a new set of "gauges" and GPS that is still a work in progress but coming together. 9.6" tablet with BAFX ODBII Blu Tooth reader hooked up. Torque pro app gives you gauges that you can customize to display the OBDII data. The Pro version also lets you do a calibration on your speed to offset gears and tire size. I'm now +/- 1 MPH on the new speedometer vs GPS going down the highway. Plus it shows a compass, accurate temperatures, and GPS coordinates.
Then added Orux mapping app and played around to get topography maps to come up. Now I can switch between the gauges on highway, and
a large screen GPS off highway.

12,481,920,000 inches to date! Wow!

I got a new 80 series collectible from my wife to go with my Hilux Surf one! Big, bigger, biggest!

Went to Colorado from AZ to get more wheel time in different terrain, ended up on icy roads and yanked out a Titan truck thing. Roads from Cortez north were all ice on Saturday. Saw a trick 70 series and lot's of 200 series.

Its taken me three days but over three weekends but finished;

1. Trans pan drop, clean, retapped drain hole, replaced dipstick o-ring and put pan back on.
2. Replaced broken soft line for trans cooler.
3. Replaced PVC valve, grommet and hose.
4. Replaced bad idler pulley with a better one.
5. All new belts.
6. New alternator
7. New fusible links
8. New fan clutch

All that is left on my immediate to do list is run my EFI relay into the cab. Should be able to knock that out tomorrow. Then its time to save for new shocks and a steam clean to start tackling oil leaks.

This will take you 15 min. Wish I had done it years ago.

That kinda looks like Silverton.
WOW! You're good, it was only a short distance from Silverton--Telluride.

SHOUT OUT: all my fellow Arizona TRAL and CopperState Cruiser friends--if it wasn't for the hands on teaching there's no way I could've stopped for anyone in a ditch. I'm no expert, still a newbie (3yrs since I got my '93) but I've got enough knowledge to know what "not" to do, the rest takes care of itself. I had the right equipment of the three (3) vehicles that stopped (snatch ropes, first aid, chains, shovels, D-rings, etc.). Not a big deal, but at 15', snowing on an icy road twenty-five (25) minutes was all it took. It would've only taken ten (10) minutes but we all had ideas on how to pull him out, ahhahahaa.

TAKE AWAY : The guy/gal with the right equipment seems to have the best ideas, ahhahaa.

See you on the trails,

Zona
