Grease gun is a pain in the ass for filling knuckles. A cheap grease gun from HF is an even bigger pain in the ass. Instead, spend the money on nitrile gloves. Box of 50 for $9.98 at Lowe's (shameless plug for my employer).

@NLXTACY got me too anal about some of the things inside my garage. Now I absolutely have to get some grease inside the hydraulic jack via a Zerk fitting. I think only a grease gun can do that job.
I already topped off the oil in the jack's reservoir and it bothers me a lot since I cannot get some grease in there too.

I have the same jack. I buy some things from Harbor Freight. I just had a bad experience with a grease gun from there. Then again, I've had bad experiences with a lot of grease guns...

Grease guns are obviously necessary. I just don't like them for the knuckles. Too time consuming.

Took 5 minutes to install my battery hold down thanks to the photo posted by @ToyotaDon.



And took 10 minutes to replace my old, rusty, blown out, steering stabilizer. It literally was doing nothing. Checking things off the maintenance list.



Installed the new Old Man Emu stabiliser from Cruiser Outfitters. Bit by bit she's riding a lot better. Could immediately tell a difference.

Any special tools used?

I read where folks have a tough time replacing these.

Oh yeah, I used a trusty old crescent wrench for the square bolt. So this is the special tool from now on.

A squirt of PB Blaster, Makita Impact driver, done. It literally took me longer to take the picture and post it on MUD than it did to swap it out.

I was expecting worse but it was a piece of cake. My existing hardware was in good condition. You wouldn't know it by the look of the old stabilizer.

That is the exact stabilizer I took out. I had it in there for 6 years. It was completely shot. Probably should've replaced it long ago...

Damn! My steering was bouncy. Noticed immediately the difference. Not sure that the steering stabilizer being shot would cause tightness. I've always experienced bounciness. Maybe someone can chime in if it can cause tightness...

How can one tell if those stabilizers are gone?

Well, after I removed it, it compressed all the way down and stayed down. It should act like a shock. While it was on I felt like I was getting a lot of bounce in my steering when I would hit bumps. The purpose of a steering stabilizer is to reduce that so the wheel stays straight when hitting bumps.

I use one to grease my knuckles, it's slow indeed but clean... I'm def. gonna try the ziplock bag trick next time ah!! Seems waaaaay efficient that way!
