Sooo, got MAF spacers and are these supposed to be compression fit?! Can't get them to seat and now I need to drop the axle another few inches to get the spring even in.
Joey, I remember reading somewhere that you might even need to drive for a while so they can set in properly.

They are tight, we spray the inside with silicone lube before installing. Even then, often takes rig weight on them before they fully seat.

Upgrades are coming.
Audio upgrade turned out great from a sound perspective and kept all factory grilles and look. The speaker upgrade led to a clean loud sound with some bass (but not shaking the car loud).
What I used:
5 1/4 would fit best in front doors; I used shallow mount 6 1/2 hertz and panel had to be trimmed slightly (though you can't see it)
4 fits rear doors no trouble - I used hertz here too
3 1/2 fits roof speakers in back but the inside of the grille had to be cut out; used kicker here
6 1/2 shallow mount sub fits with no problem in factory location; I used an earthquake sound shallow woofer system speaker and dynamat over bracket and inner compartment
I used two compact Kenwood 4 channel amps, one in factory location front and one under driver side front seat.
I have an extra sub, a pair of kicker 4 inch, and factory amp left over if anyone is interested.
I dig it.

Voluntered with the Colorado Land Cruiser Assoc. to help the Forest Service out at the Christmas tree cutting area. My son drove the Cruiser a bit and with the recent snow, we used nearly all our recovery gear helping people that were stuck or just needed help. Another fun day in the snow and practicing recovery techniques.

One side seated properly and the other side hadn't yet. Maybe driving more.
Began the starter rebuild. I have a '93, so the 2.2kw starter, which I believe is worth rebuilding vs replacing. The internals were worse off than I thought. The forward bearing on the armature (at the bottom, unsealed) was almost completely roached out. I couldn't turn it by hand and had to cut it off the shaft. The main braided wire was totally exposed and both breathers were completely gone. I hadn't planned on replacing the breathers or the wire grommet, so now my truck is laid up and waiting parts. sigh.

Motor and transmission mounts. Not the most fun but not the worst job. Replaced some heater hoses as a "while I'm in there". Glad I keep a stockpile of Mr. T hose clamps. They are the best. They were hoses were pretty bad. The clamps were fine but ugly. New battery tray. And finally fixed my fusible link! It had been butchered when I had my stereo installed about 12-13 years ago. Finally snagged a plug off a junkyard 80 and spliced it in. Soldered and heat shrinked. Looks like new. I'm pretty excited about that one. Now I need to get another spare.
Tomorrow I flush and fill the cooling system. Change the oil and use my fancy Japanese Mr. T oil filters that all the kids are raging about. Change the diff fluid. And change the tranny fluid. Should be a fun day.
Also noticed I have a tranny leak. Meh...

Prepared for day trip to Red Rock tomorrow with @ewillis @Dr Gil @jtwopark and @Qball.
Started out just checking transfer, diffs and knuckles. All good. Turned into an all day event because I wanted to add front cool spring spacers from MAF.
* bled brakes, no issues.
* raised front end to remove wheels
* noticed front lock nut was way loose
* break down hub enough to tighten lock nut
* noticed brake pads were only a few microns thick
* run over to Napa to get pads
* reassemble hub, strip flange stud
* luckily had spares
All day just one little thing after another but I now have new pads, bled brakes, added front spacers. Good to go for tomorrow.

Bled @Qball truck. Plenty of nasty black brake fluid. Entire quart ran thru to clean it up. Lots of bubbles. Drove it and I hated the pedal feel. Actuated the ABS and rebled. Rears had about 20 tiny bubbles. Front right had one big dirt plug and a huge air bubble. Stops pretty damn nice now.

Awesome man! What chains are you running?
Mine seated pretty quickly, I put them on with ToolsRUs and Inkpot help on Tuesday and they probably seated by the time I ran over the second speed bump.

Oh, and I greased my knuckles. I've got a fairly significant weep on my driver side knuckle. I guess it's time for a knuckle rebuild. Which is fine because I just ordered wheel bearings so may as well do it while I'm in there...
