Spent 7.5 hours banging away at rivets trying to get a bumper installed. Called it quits at 9:30 last night with 2 left to remove tonight before I install the new bumper/tire carrier. No air chisel, so went at them with a BFH, drill, grinder...the hard way.

Thanks, although I can't take credit. Stole the wheel tire combo idea from @Major Nelson. Wheels are 16x8, no spacers.

Thanks Major. Getting rid of the chrome is on my list, but it may take awhile. I'm afraid I'll get "murdered" if I don't slow down on the Cruiser expenditures.
my 86 FJ60 turned 114,000 so I treated it to some Mobil 1
other than that, enjoying the heck out of driving it(even though I have had it 15 years) just got the exhaust manifold gasket leak fixed. At this point every single thing on the 60 works and works like new.

Its set up with a gravity flow valve at the half way point. However I have plans of tapping the threaded 4" plug with a Schrader valve, and the bottom of the opposite end with a hose fitting. This should allow me to pressurize the shower with a bike pump or comp. At that point I should have the ability to run a pressure nosel... Any input from other mud members would be appreciated. I've never done this before. On a side note the shower performed beautifully. My girl was super happy. On the cold days when the sun refused to come out, I just pulled water out of it warmed it in a pot on the fire and poured it right back in the top. Hot showers anytime. Best 60$ mod on my truck without a doubt. Holds 5 gallons at just over 7' of 4" abs

Hey @MountNGoat which add a leaf did you go with? Any improvements on height or did you just do it for load capacity?
Finally unpacked the new garage enough to pull her in and do some post diesel swap checks after a couple thousand miles. Re-tightened engine belts and found lower radiator hose rubbed on the power steering pulley a bit to leave a mark. Replacing the hose and will better secure it. Everything else checks good.

Get a thick brass block and hold it tightly behind the spot you're welding. the block won't stick to the weld and you won't blow through.
Carbon blocks also work and are sold as such.
Eastwood sells a magnetic version. I use an 1" thick ingot about 5" x 2" because it takes longer to heat up and burn your hand. You will be amazed at the results. You can fill a 1/2" hole in 18 gauge in seconds
