as my 86 FJ60 nears its 30 birthday(may 2016) the last item that did not work was fixed........the cigarette lighter, I had misplaced the ring that screws it together when I had the dash apart last year.......found it behind the dash

waxed here sunday morning, the mostly 30 year old paint still shines nice(the hood had been repainted ages ago)

with 114K on it.....it drives like new, I can't think of anything I have not gone though on it over the 15 years we have been together.

next month I get to put Collector plates(30 years+) on it......no more tabs or fee's

still go back and forth about doing a H55F.......and this winter it will get some OEM 16" wheels and tires(mine are like new 33x10.5) but 10 years old)

I also finished up removing all the sound deadening tar mat stuff too. Dry ice method works great. I did the entire truck peeping for the body shop next week.

Did you use a chisel to get it off? I need to remove the tar next on mine.

On mine, I just used dry ice to get the tar/asphalt really cold and then a rubber hammer to hit the floor and the tar just popped off, and did so cleanly.
Not one chisel hit on mine. The cold makes it brittle and literally pops off the floor when hit with the hammer

Awesome!

Yup mine too. However make sure you break the ice up into small pieces. Peanut M&M size. Otherwise it won't work as well. And you must cover the entire area as well. I made a scraper from lexan just in case. I had to use it in a couple spots. On the corners were tough to pop up. And the body seam. It's a real easy job. I went over with a vacuum right away then with some 3m adhesive remover to remove the residue.

Had the PS tensioner pulley grenade on me on the highway. Ripped the belt off, rocked some bs Armstrong steering for the day (37's never felt so big). Picked up the new bearing ( part numbers found on mud, thanks to the cruiser community encountering problems daily!), quick swap bing bang boom and we're taking right hand turn again without veering into the oncoming lane!

Hi all. I had my spring re-curved and added some leaves to each corner a week ago, but this weekend I installed a new ARB front bumper.

I think your front shackles are on backwards. You want that middle bar on the inside to stop the springs from inverting if they get flexed all the way out.

looks good, and those shackles do look backwards. Pics of mine at https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/do...torque-is-too-much.541922/page-6#post-8716082

can you tell us about the LED light bar and the roof rack? if you did already, then I will look through the posts on this thread looking for it.
They look great. How do they perform?

thx

I'm getting closer and closer to just living in my 60 haha..
Here are some photos of the mud(something I really hate), camp, and night photos in Durango, CO. (Molas Lake)

Looks great!
What did you mean recurred?
Sorry, auto correct. " Re-Curved"
I installed the HD Old Mans 11 years ago with smaller inversion shackles. But of course over the years the leaves became completely flat. This recurve with the add a leaves gave me back the 2.5" or maybe even 3" I had lost over the years. (That's what she said) I instantly noticed the different when I climbed into the cab.
With the large 4X4 labs rear and all the gear I carry in the back, sliders, INTI roof rack, the ARB front with the winch once installed , and at some point an engine swap, it was prudent that I start with restoring the suspension before adding the ARB, winch and engine swap.

It's funny you all should mention my shackles are on backwards. I just got my truck back a couple of weeks ago from having the leaves "recurved" and something didn't look right. I think you all are correct. The fronts are on backwards, however, the rears are correct.
The company who did the work for me will be getting a call on Monday.
My long range tank and HEI dizzy are in route.
